Re: BCC = Bad Chip Company?
I thought that it was discussed at about 800+ the cost for BC's is lower than ASm...lack of communication is a problem, that's one place where ASM excels.

No they don't! Do not judge the book by the cover. Do a little calculation and refer to the first few post on this page.

That said, I have great experience with them but am not happy to here how they treat some of the other orders.

Okay, I might be wrong.
Never ordered custom BCCs, just the impression I got here.

Re: BCC = Bad Chip Company?
Count me in the camp that would have a hard time ordering again from Blue Chip. I firmly believe that had I not exchanged calls and emails with them every other week, I would not have had the "good fortune" of receiving my chips over six months later with exactly zero extras - but plenty of inlay issues.
I love their edgespots/insert options, but I don't believe that ChipTalk customers rank very high on their list of valued clients.

Re: BCC = Bad Chip Company?
They both have points that are better than the other company. In my opinion, BCC has great edgespots and I more color choices (about the same on edgespot base colors, a bunch more edgespot colors, and a bunch more solid base color choices). ASM has better options for the inlay, as you can change from chip to chip, front to back, different inlays, text, etc. BCC has 5 different inlay sizes and two finishes. ASM has one or two inlay sizes and one finish, though this is becoming more open. ASM has quicker customer service, replacements, etc. As for price, no matter what, chips are going to be expensive, so to me it is moot.

Re: BCC = Bad Chip Company?
Now if only ASM will start making custom molds for group buys. They'd be aces!

Re: BCC = Bad Chip Company?
My experience with them has been very good. Yes I had a very, very long wait time (9+ months) but the quality of the product is very high. I know some folks have a legitimate quality beef (the PNY example comes to mind) but everything I've seen and held has been very good.
As far as no extras, ASM is the oddball with that. The only other clay manufacturer that I can think off, TRKing, never gave extras. I think folks have taken ASM's largess for granted.
I can only speak for my experience, but they always responded to my phone calls. I would order from them again. I said I'd never get another set again (right) but am thinking about either BCC or ASM for a tournament set (my current set is ceramic).

Re: BCC = Bad Chip Company?
I must say that my BCC experience was good, and the product results were more than acceptable (6 out of 560 that I think should not have passed QC).
Frequent customer communication is definitely not a strong point. However, when reached, they were always very helpful and accommodating.
Personally, I prefer the weight and feel of my heavier BCCs against the ASM HH samples I have, and the hardness doesn't bother me. The mold, while plain, can be de-emphasized by interesting color/spot combos (which I think I achieved with my choices).
I have not placed an order since the special in Dec 2006, although I am considering an add-on at some point in the future. Hopefully by then there will have been progress in fixing the customer service issues and inlay problems.

No problem, I felt the same way when I was looking at their art charges the first time but it all comes down to the price per chip. Eventually, they become very feasible.
For first timers, the big thing that ASM has over BCC is the customer service. ASM gives a carring image and will hold your hand through the process by responding to emails regularly. If you are not a phone person and require communication by emails, and would like someone to hold your hand weekly through the entire process, then BCC IS NOT YOUR PLACE. Don't get me wrong, Dave and Mike are extremely pleasant and helpful to work with but you have to take the initiative. Do not expect them to contact you regulary for an up-to-date status.
