Where To Start

I've been into chips that were from an actual casino's, well now I think I'm turning the corner and maybe have a set made. I just looked at the chip gallery and seen alot of beautiful chips. Where do I start, do these company's deal direct with you or do I have to deal with a third party. I would like to start the design but let somebody finish it, I'm not an artist. I would like to stay with clay chips or maybe a chipco. What is the turn around time and maybe some tease pricing.

BCC and ASM will deal with you directly to my knowledge. When I would email them, they have always personally responded.

Re: Where To Start

I've dealt with Palm Imports and have had ZERO problems. In my opinion, their customer service cannot be beat. They do both clay and custom ceramics. Can't lose with them.

Re: Where To Start

There can sometimes be fees associated with the creation of artwork. ASM (pokerchips.com) does not charge art fees. Check out the prices and custom options before committing to any manufacturer.

And hang on, it's a wild ride!

Re: Where To Start

Nope, they're in Florida. All of their products are "imported" though.

www.pokerchips.com for ASM customs.

Look through as many threads as you can in the "Custom Chip Mock-Up" thread and the "custom Chip Request for hire" section. This will answer a lot of questions for you on how to begin. I would recommend going to www.chipdesignnetwork.com and registering for free. Then start playing around with color selections. Keep in mind which edgespot patterns and colors are available, and start tinkering. DO NOT hurry your decision or you will be unhappy with the end result. Get lots of feedback from those people whose opinions you respect, especially if you're married! Good luck!

Personally, it's my opinion that if you are a patient man, BCC is the best custom chip available. There are more edgespot options, more inlay size options, heavier chip, and potentially better prices!

I am ordering 1,000 BCCs with the heavier weight, 5 denominations, and Super Grand inlay for $1,200. I spent $900 (without shipping) for 620 custom ASMs. If I had ordered 1000 ASMs it would have been $1,450 plus shipping. ASM got my chips to me in LESS than a month though, from artwork approval to arrival!!!!! Dave at BCC told me 10 weeks (from artwork approval to arrival).

Here are the links to my BCC & ASM Custom pics and details.

Re: Where To Start

Good luck on your venture. I personally like clay chips and if you are looking for chips closest to similarity to your clay chips from casinos, blue chip hands down. I have custom chipcos and I would stay away from them. Mine started nice, but not long into play spinners started popping up like crazy. They also chip really easy in a non-flattering way. I regret not spending more at the time for some BCC chips.
