scraping chips??? - what is used by the chip makers
for the big 3 that do hotstamping on their chips, what is used to "scrape" chips after being hotstamped? and if anyone actually knows the proper way to "scrape", would love to hear that also.
Re: scraping chips??? - what is used by the chip makers
My understanding is: if the inlay is recessed enough, scraping is not required. Therefore, I assume only chips with sufficient recession are are chosen to hotstamp to prevent spinners and eliminate the need to scrape.
However, if I'm talking out of my a$$ again and someone corrects me, I'll replace this post with some kind of picture or wisecrack so I don't look so stupid.

That's a good question... I have no answer, but just wanted to say this is a very good question. Hopefully someone knows, because I am a bit curious myself.

I would love to know how it is done as well...I heard from BCC that if the inlay is recessed enough, then they don't need to be scraped (as mentioned in a previous post). I was told the interlocking T-molds were not recessed enough because some of them will "shake" or "wobble" on in a stack when hot stamped if not scraped.
I would love to have my T-molds hot stamped, but it costs too much for me to have a custom stamp done by BCC at this point in time ($800 to $1000), and I'm not sure that I can bring myself to chance having spinners after I pay to get 1000+ of them hot stamped...
