You should have them send it so you have to sign for it. That way they won't leave it at your door if you're not there. You can then go to the post office/UPS warehouse/FedEx building and sign for the package and take them home.

They will all melt just like a candy bar and ruin your mailbox as well. Sorry Charlie

Re: what happen to clay chips if left in the heat

I'm guessing that they will be ok for 3 days, but you can just go by your local post office and put a "hold" on your mail. When you're back in town you take the hold off. IT's very simple and doesn't take a lot of time.

Re: what happen to clay chips if left in the heat

I got my T-mold hot stamp samples a few weeks ago, either they sat on th edashboard of the mailman's truck all day or the mailbox gets incredibly hot. I opened the box and it was steaming inside and some of the chips warped. They flattened out with a bit of work....

Oh, they were in the mailbox a max of 2 hours.

If you ordered BCC, custom or not, I would rather not take a chance of anything bad happening to them.

Re: what happen to clay chips if left in the heat

A few years ago I had a set of custom ASM's sit in my car for 8 hours during the summer and I had to throw out about 100 of them. Warped, melty and the remaining "good" ones smell like bad chemicals to this day. They were given to me as an xmas present 10 years ago so that sorta sucked.

Yes, heat can hurt chips. Mine were stored in a leather case at the time of baking so I had this thought that they would be safe since they were packed tightly but it didn't matter.

Re: what happen to clay chips if left in the heat

BCC shipped my chips FedEx so putting a hold on you mail from the post office would not help.

That explains why my mailbox is so sticky. Heat is bad, but it sound slike you have your problem solved.
