If you have ever get a chance, could you post more pics of the half-pie Avalons? I am not sure how many you have, but only saw one pic where they were in the case. By the way, they are sweet chips.

If it's a matter of labor than I can understand but it certainly doesn't look like it requires more sweat than the V-shape or the 614. Either way, beggers can't be choosy. Thanks for the input

Thanks for the input | Actually it probably does involve a lot of labor and a lot of problems. When you do the v shape, or the 614, you've still got most of the chip there that you put the inserts into. When you do a half pie, you just have to put the two halves together (pretty easy compared to 614 or V. But think about the 1/4 pie, you've got 4 pieces that you have to put together to create a single round chip and then place the inlay on it in the proper orientation. I'm thinking there's probably a lot of errors after they get pressed because the pieces move around, etc. Just a guess on my part, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the problem.

I hear you and I agree that if that's the process, than yes, it would result in more labour and QC. However, my guess is that a quarter pie isn't really 4 quarters. Rather, it consist of 3 pieces. The base (or 1st piece) would consist of 2 quarters plus the center area and the other two pieces are the inserts. Again, this is just my guess. If anyone knows how a quarter pie is made, it would be interesting to know. thanks
