I'm not very good at this photoshop thing. Discuss I'm not very good at this photoshop thing, on ChipTalk.net the place to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in Custom Chips General.
Okay I've followed the guide and played around a little, but I feel like it should be much better. I want to know how to make like a fading color background and such. Need some advice and tips in photoshop, thanks. Here's what I got so far:
I assume you have each part of your image on a separate layer...
The way to do the fading background it to create a new layer and move this layer in between the background layer and anything you have put in the foreground. You do this by dragging the entry in the layer pallette up or down.
On this new layer experiment with the gradient tool.
For a poker chip inlay you can use the circle option of the gradient tool. Change the gradient so that end side is transparent and the other end is the chip base color.
Then drag the mouse from the center of your layer to one corner and see what happens.... undo and tweak the gradient settings (or drag from the corner to the center) to change the behaviour until you get it right.

you have probably already thought of doing this, but as the chip colors change, that color burst in the middle of the inlay should match (like the blue). That is gonna be a sweet looking set.
