I'm interested in putting together a custom set but find some of the clay custom alternatives a bit limitating, like having to use Sidepots InPlay mold. I like it but I would really like everything to be custom.
So here are some questions that I hope you guys can answer:
Is the flame mold my only alternative or can I choose heavier and more solid feeling molds, like similar to the Inplays or Samurai weight and feel?
I kind of dislike the Vineyard commems chips feeling, is this what I will get if I order custom BCC with giant inlays?
What limitations will I have choosing spots and colours?
Will the Chip Forge factory let me produce a realistic design that BCC really can make?
One option if you are not married to the giant inlay is to have a custom "mold" lasered onto the chips. Check out h4tfan's paid forum, Lazer Chips. He can laser over the flames. I saw his work on ASMs and it is quite nice. A custom mold is $7500. You can have both sides of your chips lasered for .15/chip IIRC. $150 for 1000 chips ain't bad.
In the Chip Factory, any edge spot pattern marked with an * is not available to the home buyers.
Follow JM's suggestion and search around. You will find answers to questions you didn't think to ask.
Just a question that I haven't found the answer to yet:
I find the BCC Vineyard commems a bit "transparent" on the sharp edges, especially the $2 light green. Compared to Paulsons and even BCC Inplays and Samurais the Vineyards (Flame mold) seem a bit more "plasticy" and not so chalky or "clayish" in lack of better words to describe it, you know what I mean right?!
Is this true for the customized BCC you can order too?

HI:
In my experience buying customized BCC´s I´m completly satisfied with them, they look, feel and sound completley clay. They´re awesome, I bougth the heavier ones and the super grand inlays worked great for me.

"heavier ones"? Can you choose different weights? How much does the heavier chip weigh?
