the way i did it i was able to dye 20 at a time. i also used the timer on the stove to get a consistant color for each batch

I do 50 at a time, but drop them in 1 by 1.

Don't know if it is off topic, if so I'm sorry.
Does the dye wear off with time and shuffling?
I'm concidering to get an entire dyed tourney set if the color comes off with heavy use
edit: let's say normal use.

for my tourney set i use standard denom. colors (t25 green, t100 black, t500 pink/purple, etc) so i only had to dye t500 pink and t1000 yellow. the starting stack that i use doesnt utilize that many of the high denoms so there isnt that many in play, maybe not even enough to have a decent stack to shuffle. but to answer, no none of my chips have any dye wear
