ceramics from ABC

I am going to get a set of 500 ceramics, for a cash game. Lots of questions lets start with ABC's chips who has them, who likes them, and who has PICs of them. My true love is clay, but I cant afford them now so I will settle. thx

Re: ceramics from ABC

Also why are my chips down to just 1. Does it cost 1 chip to post a new thread? and how do I get some back.

Re: ceramics from ABC

I am also curious about this. Is there a good comparison of ABC, Palm, and Mr. Chip in regards to price points? These seem to be the "big three" that offer the service. They also seem to be the most active on this site.

Some of the pricing can be found on their sites, but was cursious if anyone who previously made a purchase compared how much a 500 chip set would run at the three vendors.

It costs 1 chip to post a thread in a General forum (i.e. Custom Chips General or Poker Chips General) in order to promote posting in the appropriate forum. The mods spend significant amount of time moving posts to the right forums.

You get them back by replying to threads (although not in General Forums, M2M, or Sponsor Forums). Soon enough you'll have plenty. Give it time.

Parrot,

Look at the bottom left hand part of the screen:

At the bottom of each thread you can see these rules. Most times you get 3 chips for starting a thread, and 1 chip for any reply. There are two exceptions:

(1) Any "General" forum. These cost 1 chip to start a thread in. Mods were moving stuff all the time b/c people just stuck stuff in general, so they started this as an incentive to find the right one. Unfortunately for you, you probably have the right forum. This won't really be a big issue in the long run as you will accumulate chips quickly, and one chip really isn't much.

(2) Member to member sales cost 100 chips, I think it is. This is just to stop spammers from selling stuff here - you need to be around for a while.

Ways to gain chips include posting, writing an article or review, or placing first to fourth in the weekly tournament.

Order a sample set. The only person that needs to be happy with them is you.

Re: ceramics from ABC

Welcome to chiptalk guys!

There are many threads talking about ABC and ceramic chips in general. The advanced search is very helpful. If you just want to see pics, search only the gallery forums for whatever you are looking for.

Now that you guys are chiptalk members the best way to compare prices is just email the vendor and ask. As always, get lots of samples before you get a full set. Who you go with depends on your design to some extent. Even the competition will recommend ABC for aligned or detailed edge work. If you like textured more than smooth chips, you have limited yourself to PI, NJ or Mr.Chips. ABC no longer makes textured chips.

I have samples from everyone and have played with full sets owned by friends as well.
Personally, I would go with ABC or PI. Mr.Chips has his printed by Sunfly and shipped directly from the factory to you. The quality has come a long way, but QC can't compete with the US makers. NJ has had problems with spinners and print quality isn't as good as ABC or PI. PI is moving to a new bigger facility a somewhat recent merger. Things are chaotic trying to contact them, but they will get back to you and they only expect one day of down time. I have dealt with both and service was excellent.
