How Are Ceramic Chips Printed?

Having done a few designs intended for ceramic chips I got to wondering how exactly are ceramic chips printed? More out of curiosity than anything else but if someone could shed some light on the process I'd be very grateful.

Re: How Are Ceramic Chips Printed?

SunFly chips are printed very sharp. Sometimes it seems a bit dull if you look really close, also are chipco.
But I have no clue how the actual printing process works in detail.

Re: How Are Ceramic Chips Printed?

They all use a form of dye-sublimation printing.
The exact process that each company uses is a trade secret.
Here is a link.

Re: How Are Ceramic Chips Printed?

I know they print the edges onto a stack of chips first and then the faces. Like Timmy said you won't find much else. I think the key to good results is setting up the machine properly before a batch is run. Joe has said the machines everyone uses are vary similar so it come down to the human input.

Re: How Are Ceramic Chips Printed?

2nd most guarded secret- ceramic chip manufacturing
1st most guarded secret-- the ingredients in Paulsons and BC chips
( well, the KFC batter ingredients MAY be a tie for 1st)

As far as how there printed.. I can comment on our way...

" with great love, care and dedication"

Hope this clears things up

Re: How Are Ceramic Chips Printed?

I thought Coke Classic was 1st. But I guess since the guy got fined 8Mil for leaking secrets it may not be 1st any longer.
