Chips: 569 | | | WWUDO to finance new customs? What would you do to finance a new set of customs.
So my wife and I have been going back and forth on me financing a new set of chips.
Frankley I don't buy any of her arguments that I spend to much on pokerchips and then not use them. [minirant]It's not my fault I have no personality and people in my area have all but stopped playin poker... (I know Whhhhhhhhaaaaaaa!), except jojo. [/minirant]
So I saw this ad in the newspaper to do pharmaceutical testing. Yeah like $400 bucks to take some pills and I have like a 1/4 chance of a the placebo. I like those pot odds. I also have a real condition that warrants trying the medication. So it's a win win situation for me. As soon as I get $75 bucks I'm placing my order for my
Club de Aranas customs. Club de Aranas customs. Yeah for me.
So what kinds of ideas have you pondered for financing your next set of chips |

The other thing I do is sell chips that I previously owned. |

Budget money out of each paycheck, pay cash.
No interest, no pills, no credit cards, you own it, no side effects. |

Don't let what happened in Great Britiain last year scare you. I work for a company that does both preclincial as well as clinical (phase I-IV) work for the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.
Are they risky? Of course they are. You're putting a compound into your body that's only been proven to be safe in rodents and non-human primates, not humans. Of course there are going to be side effects. Where do you think the drug companies come up with them? They don't just pull them out of a hat. They actually do exist and must be presented on the label for your SAFETY.
Stay away? No. You're providing data that will eventually save someone's life. We're in the business of saving lives. Without clinical study volunteers, these drugs that could prove to be miracles to some folks just couldn't make it to the shelves of your pharmacy. Not to mention the financial compensation. We just ran a 4 week study that compensated volunteers $5500. Not bad for 4 weeks of your time.
Sorry, I'm just VERY passionate about what I do. I know there are people out there who are against it, that's fine, and I respect that.
*edit* I never really answered the question at hand. I did what Quads suggested. I set aside $XX per paycheck until I had the scratch to write a check out to ASM. Only way to go if you ask me. |

since you're already thinking like this... why not donate plasma ($20-$30) a visit or LOL donate the little soilders (you catch the drift) $75-100 a sample...
Me, i'd rather take a second job delivering pizza or something along those lines.
Honestly though, since they are customs, its not as if there is a deadline for purchasing them. Just save up the scratch and buy them when you have the money saved...
I do like the idea, more options are always good, but it seems a little extreme for acquiring more chips...

I was on this medicine about 5 years ago, with no ill effects. |

| Oh heck yeah! There's a plasma center a couple miles from my house. As soon as I get off these meds I'll do that too. |

Pretty much ALL the drugs in trials in the USA are already being prescribed in Europe (with success); which is why they are trying to get them pushed through here too.
I'd say go for it, especially if you already know you are tolerant to this medication and, it may actually help you physically to be better. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
