PokerChipLounge 10g Clay Old Fashioned's / Great Wall Samples

Does anyone have some samples of these chips I could buy off of them (~ 6-8 of each)?

Custom Poker Chips - 10 Gram Clay Old Fashioned's

Custom Poker Chips - 10 Gram Clay Great Wall

Are there any significant differences in these 2 chips?

If the quality of the chips are similar, I think I will go with the Old Fashioned, I like the mold and color combos a little bit more.

Comments?

Seems like the first example are Blue Chip (which incidentally aren't 10g). There are Blue Chips floating around just about everywhere.

The second seem like the PI Chinese clay chips.

Do a search for both there are a few threads open on each. I know there's a recent one on some labeled PI compression chips.

Re: PokerChipLounge 10g Clay Old Fashioned's / Great Wall Samples

From the little research I have done, it looks like the 2 chips are the same material, just on different molds, and with different colors.

If this is the case, I am going to go with the ones on the "flame" mold, simply because I like the color selection and mold design a little bit more.

I will be in touch with the guys at PokerChipLounge.com to see what they have to say.

*** I am still looking for some samples of these chips if anyone has some laying around!***

Ya, I think these were from the first run of Chinese clays, where they "mistakenly" used an exact replica of BCC's mold. They probably are closer to 10 g than authentic BCC chips...

You could PM PalmImports. Joe will probably be happy to have samples sent to you.

The flame mold chips I believe are the standard 'custom' option that Blue Chip sells, the other ones are the chinese clays I'm pretty sure (unless BCC is using Roland's mold already).

Re: PokerChipLounge 10g Clay Old Fashioned's / Great Wall Samples

I'm pretty sure jdunford has it right - the first batch of PI 4C chips were made with rip-off flame mold and they changed it to the "great wall" mold after BCC complained. If that's the case, the materials should be exactly the same. There were supposed to be some quality control issues with the early batches, especially the solids. I have samples of the "Wallsons" and they're okay... a little separation between edgespot colors, etc. but overall they seem okay for the price.

I don't think they made that many with the flame mold though. I'm pretty sure those were only the prototypes that were then changed because they were a BCC clone. Though maybe another chinese company took the dies and are making them.

I was wrong about the "Flame" molds, it is more like a sea-shell. Both of these chips are still available, correct?

It looks like they cost around .66-.70 a chip, depending on quantity, are there any better options at this price range for clay, or clay like chips?

Have a look at the pokerchiplounge.com forum at the Market Place here on CT. There is a special CT price: The Great Walls are .55 each customized. When ordered with their stock label they are .59 each.

Please use this reply for all the questions posted as it should cover all the bases

The FIRST chips our factory released were done on a VERY close copy of Blue Chips' flame mold.

Whilst our attorney said we could sell them after doing his homework- we are friends with BlueChip and after speaking with the Endys agreed not to mass market these chips- we immediately went to a new mold- The Great Wall or interlocking L mold. The color scheme is different between these chips- but the chip material is identical.

We used the flame mold chips for a very small amount of orders- sent them out as initial samples- and have very few remaining.

We have NO greens and very few Blacks- we have a few thousand whites, purple, blue, red and orange chips remaining.

Weve sold approx 250,000 of the new mold and everyone raves about this chip for what it is and what it costs-so much so that were flying in another 150,000 chips next week as the demand is strong and we cant wait 45 days for a boat delivery.

Were going to add a few more colors probably in July or August.

Please read the reviews on these chips for additional information.

I recommend buying them labeled as the fit/finish on unlabeled ones isnt perfect- once labeled however they look real good.

Joe
