Chips: 2,106 | | | Question about BCC weights..Why go heavy? Why is it that most here are adamant about opting for BCC "heavy" weighted chips?
I ask this because it seems that those here that are all over ASM's which weigh between 8.5 to 9 grams (per their website) are the same people that turn their nose to "light" BCC's which weigh 8.75-9.25 grams (on average they still weigh more than their ASM's).
So I ask you all...is it really worth five cents/chip more for .75 more grams to get "heavy" BCC's? |

Chips: 123 | | | Re: Question about BCC weights..Why go heavy? Well if thats true... I have heavyweight BCC's and no ASM's to compare to but if this is true of ASM's chips dont see the need in spending the extra nickel per chip.
Great Point BTW! |

Great Point BTW! | It just seems to me that, especially if you already own ASM's, "light" BCC's would make more sense so the feel is more uniform across the board. |

which would be something I would want to avoid.
BUt your OP was IF you already had ASM's, correct?

different strokes dude. | Once you play with ASM's you don't notice the weight. They stack, feel, and sound great. How would it be any different with "light" BCC's that on average weigh more? |

Just a better overall feel with a stack of 20 in your hand. The small weight difference per chip isn't much, but it adds up in stacks and I have a feeling that if you got the lightweight chips you would grab a stack and wish you would have gone heavier.

Chips: 530 | | | Re: Question about BCC weights..Why go heavy? I had a sample set of early BCCs (Las Vegas) and they seemed way too light for my tastes.
I now have samples of T-molds, and I love the weight. I don't have any BCC heavier than that, but I can't imagine needing more weight than the T-molds. I also have Mardi Gras Clay samples, and I like the weight on those as well. They seem a tad lighter than the T-molds, but they really are very nice chips. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
