ASM Label Pics - Broken Chip Perspective

After oiling 2100 ASM chips over the last week, I discovered 1 poor soldier that was cracked.

Took the opportunity to take some pics of the label (which is still firmly in place) despite 1/3 of the chip being broken off.

Re: ASM Label Pics - Broken Chip Perspective

First off, that sucks!

You should be able to fix it using some epoxy. I once fixed a paulson with epoxy and it was good as new. I also think that since the inlay is still stuck to one side of the broken chip, there is more surface area to cover with glue, probably giving you better results.

good luck!

Re: ASM Label Pics - Broken Chip Perspective

I had an ASM break with similar results (though mine broke due to a low-height drop). I laughed when I found that it would still stand perfectly on-end...on both sides.

What was the process in fixing your chip with epoxy and how did it look afterwards?

Re: ASM Label Pics - Broken Chip Perspective

It's kinda hard to feel sorry for someone who STILL has 2,099 perfect ASMs
I'm just jealous!

Doesnt pokerchips.com cover this kind of thing with a warranty or something? Or is it just easier to fix yourself? I have just finished my ASM color selections and I am about to submit them for mockups.

Re: ASM Label Pics - Broken Chip Perspective

They give you extras to cover any bad chips so he should still have 2100 perfect ones.

Yup. I only ordered 2000 so the other 100 were obviously extras .

I wasn't worried about the broken one at all (I've given a number of the extras away to people on here or friends who asked). I just thought it may have been of interest to some members who may not have seen an ASM label the way it is shown in the pics.
