Classic H Mold Inlay - nominations / suggestions?

I'm beginning the very slow process of planning a set of H mold ASM customs. With my surname starting with an H, and the classic looking mold, there was really no decision to be made there.

However, inlay wise I'm looking for some simple but classic inlays to draw inspiration from - mainly vegas chips from the 50s/60s (I think?).

From the custom chip pics on ct, I really like Hach's and circlencircle's inlays btw.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks in advance

Hod.

Re: Classic H Mold Inlay - nominations

My surname also begins with an H, so like you said, it is a no-brainer to go with the ASM H mold.

My first name and my wife's first name both begin with D, so it didn't take long to come up with the Double-D Poker Room.

The logo then became two "D"s facing each other with an "hidden" H in the middle. Simple design that IMHO looks pretty good. I have always been a fan of simple logos that have meaning. If you stick with those you can't go wrong.

On the backs are the denoms and the card suits in an homage to the Sands H-Mold chips of the '50s.

This site shows some great old Vegas Chips with the H-Mold:

Check out the Sands chip for the suits reference...

Good luck with whatever you decide and be sure to post some pics here and we can help you along.

How about something like this with your face on it? That's what I should have done.

I don't know about you, but my buddies would have given me a lot of s--- for putting my face on the chips. I just don't think I am that vain.

My favorite H mold chip's are the Harold's Club chips.

Liked them so much I ended up with 300 for a cash game that I'll never end up hosting.

The hotstamped solids are on the small greek key, another mold I'm partial to.

Re: Classic H Mold Inlay - nominations / suggestions?

Thanks, I've added the links and photos to my scrapbook for inspiration so far.

TexRed - I don't know how I missed your chips, very nice indeed and I like the spot colours/patterns a lot, just the sort of simple card-room as opposed to casino inlay I like too, initials rather than garish inlays.

Harolds Club, that's the old-looking sort of chips I like too, although having my face on the chip, heheh, no chance!

Many thanks all.

Hod
