If money wasn't an issue, And when ordering from BCC heavier weight is just 5 bucks per hundred chips more, so it really isn't that much more. Would you ever get the lighter weight? Does anyone like the lighter weight Or when it comes to clay BCCs you gotta go with the heavier weight.
This custom ChipTalk link is built to show you only the real deal: Casino quality poker chips; Not the plastic chips that some sellers call "clay." http://www.eBay.com/casino-chips
If I was willing to accept lighter weight chips I would just go with ASM because of the available molds. Otherwise if choosing BCC, I would get the heavier weight every time.
If given the option, I would never get the lighter weight.

I challenge anyone to hold a single chip in their hand with their eyes closed and tell me if it is heavy or light. Even with stacks of five, the difference is inperceptable. Five bucks isn't much, but it adds up quick when you buy the quantities most people do for a custom set. I don't have a preference, but since the heavier BCCs are a fraction of a mm bigger, I'd go light. If you got the money, flaunt it. I'll take heavier BCCs when they come in 43mm.
1 chip versus 1 chip it would be nearly impossible to tell the difference.
But I usually handle stacks of 10 to 20, and there is a difference there...Not a huge difference, but it enough to make me pay an extra $25 for my 500 chips when I ordered.
