Chips: 92 | | | Help with BCC custom design issues Hi, I am staring work on creating a set of custom BCC chips. Here are some particulars: - I will be ordering the "heavy" chips. Around 600
- They will have multi color edgespots
- Probably 4 base colors: green, black, purple and orange/yellow
- They will have inlays of some sort.
- They will have at least 3 non currency denomination 25, 100, 500 (probably no denomination on the orange/yellow for flexibility) so I can use them for either small stakes cash or Tourny.
- I play mostly quarter/dollar spread limit games thus most need for greens and blacks.
- I am thinking the quantities will be something like:
- 300 green (w. day green)
- 150 black (black)
- 100 purple (laker purple)
- 50 arc yellow/orange (arc yellow probably)
- I am particularly fond of the horse shoe spot "3u" pattern, the 414818, and 3T18. The "moon" pattern does not seem to work on the factory (??).
Here are some of my questions: - Is there a way to export or copy the image of an entire chips set from the chip factory so that I could post it here for comments? I only seem able to export a single chip image ("main").
- I would like to reduce the art set up fees if at all possible, if anyone has had any success in this area (outside of the "special" i missed out on), let me know. I can live with the same image on both sides and even from denomination to denomination, but i do want to have at least three denominations.
- To get started just looking at different label ideas does anyone have some good suggestions. I am thinking of an animal theme as one idea. Probably pretty simple. Maybe black silhouette with red denominations with blue wrting ("Bad pet poker" e.g.) in italics around edge. BCC has better results with plan white background or at least no fancy fades and stuff near edge of inlay.
- Does anyone know if BCC can do shaped inlays (like the one available on the Chip Factory?
- Any other issues, cautions, warnings, woulda-coulda's from folks having gone the BCC custom order route?
- Any comments on my color breakdown? Could I use this set for a 8 person T5000 tourney?
- I would love to use a mold other than the "flame" mold and if someone would lend/rent theirs, BCC will use it. Any leads?
- Once I post my basic chip design, if anyone wants to piggy back on the order, I am willing to do so (as well as take input on design variables, and even compromise - up to a point.
Any thoughts/comments are most welcome!

Any thoughts/comments are most welcome! | BCC charges 150 per denom in art fees and right now the flame mold is the only one availble for customs. |

| I think you will find Black and Laker Purple too close in color for most practicle applications. Go with Light Pink, White, or whatever else. |

I concur, laker purple is almost identical to the black 1 foot away. This makes me wonder why this color even came to be |

Any thoughts/comments are most welcome! | 1. If you have some photoshop like program you can capture the screen and post the whole thing. You'd need to have some hosting site for the image, Imageshack is very popular hereabouts.
2. You're basically screwed having missed the special deal. It's $150 per unique chip which means each denom is separate art.
3. Personally, with rare exception, I think white background is best. You're talking at most 1" and some change for your art field. That said there are some fine chips that have been done other ways, The Grove Set being my favorite.
4. BCC can but it will cost you a fortune. Really. Unless you're willing to do a group buy this is probably not an option.
5. Get samples.
6. As I mentioned above I'd go West Day Green/Black/Light Pink/Arc Yellow (though I'd worry about Light Pink and Arc Yellow being in the same lighter part of the color spectrum).
7. You'd need to contact the mold owners directly. Holdempokerchips owns the T mold and definitely will not "lease" their's out. There's a group buy organized by rolandshoffinc and he's getting a new mold made which he might be willing to "lease". I think folks opinions of the Flame mold have softened over time, maybe give some thought to going with it. If you're desiring a larger size inlay it might even be better suited to what you're doing.
8. You might be able to sell a few sample sets but I wouldn't count on a great rush for this offer unless your chips are really completely off the hook, since everyone can get customs.
Hope this helps. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
