Sorry Joe. | It is truly a shame that this thread turned out the way it did. I played along with beekeeper because in all honesty
I didn't think it was possible to get these chips made. Maybe I'm naive but I didn't take Joe's comments seriously and believed he was going with the flow of the theme/topic. If he wasn't, what was he going to gain but make another member happy? He wasn't going to make a huge profit on it and in the end he may have had a few legal hassles from George Lucas and friends. Though I doubt that. If he was violating a rule of ChipTalk, then a PM would have addressed it.
I wish Joe wouldn't worry about the "red lights." I think if some of you knew his background, you would know the man is about caring, and helping others because he wouldn't have spent the majority of his life working in EMS if he didn't.

Irish | I agree. I thought that we were fantacizing. I already mentioned in one of my first threads that I have a friend that works for the franchise who told me that Lucas is vigilant about any use of his trademark. I had no idea I was violating a Chiptalk Code. I did not see myself as stealing anyone's design. Everything in my mind was not merely hypothetical (as I can't afford custom chips) but also meant to be fun.
I don't actually worry about the "red lights" because I feel like I have a lot of friends on the site. But I do feel chastised for--well, I'm not really sure for what. |

Sorry Joe. | Honestly, beekeeper - i dont think it was "this" thread that caused PI to withdraw his sponsorship. Although, it could have been the straw that broke the camels back (or that poor horse in PI's avatar).
I read this thread thinking... cool... starwars chips! what?!? no jabba the hut - well maybe jabba could be on a plaque that vader chip image is killer!
then it turned to a rep'losion thread again. Yuck!
now I am just sitting here shaking my head. bummer. i hate to see joe go too.... His deals, if he does leave, will be the stuff of CT legend!

I spoke with Joe. I hope he reconsiders. I probably should have kept the rep thing to myself--but it surprised me. Needless to say, I'm more surprised now. |

I hope Joe reconsiders as well, and for the neg reppers--go ahead and flag me too, for all I care.
My dream chips (the Binion's Tributes) were created by one of the CT sponsors, and without him, I wouldn't have them.
Ten, please do away with the rep system before other sponsors hit the door. |

would he get away with it? yes. what that has to do with what's right or lawful, i don't know. |

Dude, this wasn't what the code was created for. Ten was very specific in not wanting this type of behavior arising because of this code. It was merely voicing an opinion on your preference of chip. These morons that have decided to go around neg. reping everything that "they" don't agree with is not supposed to be happening. I think we should all take a stance and neg. rep each other to death, kinda like Yeltzen. Then there would be nothing left to neg. rep!!!!!! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
