ASM or BCC?

I don't really have any of either of these chips, but I might be thinking about a custom set that resembles the USPC chips in the future.

I was wondering what the opinions of the CT masses are on which is a better feeling, sounding, and looking clay? They would be solid/hotstamped. I know I should get samples, and I'm working on that. But I am more interested in hearing opinions from those who have handled them!

Thanks!

Re: ASM or BCC?

For solid hostamped, I'd say go BCC. You'll have many more color options to choose from and can pay a few cents more to get the heavier chip if you wish. Also, BCC is the only place that will do a custom die.

There seem to be many here that do not like the flame mold (I like it). You could always buy the solids at holdempokerchips to get his T mold and then ship them to BCC to have them stamped.

Re: ASM or BCC?

I've got samples plus a set of ASM HHR chips. I've also got a few sets and samples of Blue Chips. My preference is for the ASMs. Not by a huge margin though.

Re: ASM or BCC?

Hi:

In my opinion I like better BCC's, they have many more colors and ASM don't do hotstamps

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The other thing about ASM that is frustrating is that you can only get solids on the circle square mold and solid hotstamped on the A-mold. If I could get the T-mold or Horsehead mold then that might tip the scales because I really like the feel of ASM's from those I have felt in the past.

I thought about getting holdempokerchips T-mold, but I don't know if I like how small the center inlay area is compared to the flame mold.

Can you explain to me how BCC makes their chips heavier? What are the weights you can get through BCC?

Thanks for the responses, please keep them coming!

Re: ASM or BCC?

I'm not sure how they make them heavier (compression?), but I believe the lighter chips are around 8-9g and the heavier are 9-10g.

For what it's worth, ASMs will be lighter no matter what. If you like the weight of ASMs, then you won't mind the "lighter" BCCs.

Re: ASM or BCC?

You can get the American and Cards & Dice mold chips hotstamped.

Do you know how I can get some samples of the BCC solid light and heavy chips?

Call them (their number is on their website). Ask for Dave and tell him what your looking for. He can also tell you how the heavier chips get that way.
