Chips: 530 | | | Best overall for solid hotstamp I have decided that my first custom set will be a cash game hotstamped clay set.
There are a lot of minefields that go along with this set though. ASM appears to only be able to hotstamp the A mold, and not in Day-Glo colors. Also, the turnaround time is pretty long (which is understandable, but I am impatient)
BCC only has the flame mold available for hotstamping, and, well, it's ugly.
I was considering picking up T-molds from MSPatton, but I haven't really seen any finished products of hotstamped T-molds, and it seems that some people are concerned with the weight. Plus I will be paying double shipping, to get them shipped here, then to ship them to BCC.
Also, does anyone know if BCC is unable to hotstamp Day-Glo colors as well? There is a DG Green that I wanted to get if I do end up getting T-molds.
Given these factors, what is my best option here? The price looks pretty good from the BCC side, but I can't really get over the ugly mold. I can't find a solid price online for ASM, but I think they are more expensive, and while the A mold isn't terrible, it's not my mold of choice from them. I like T-molds, but there haven't been many (if any) hotstamped before that I have seen, and the colors I like will soon be discontinued (blaze orange and DG green) making it impossible to add-on later.
All opinions and help is appreciated, thanks! |

Chips: 6,247 | | | Re: Best overall for solid hotstamp As far as the time frame goes, I wouldn't expect a much faster turnaround from BCC. They are swamped with custom orders right now. The hotstamps are getting done faster than the inlay chips though.
Did ASM tell you personally that they would not hotstamp dayglo chips, or are you basing that on the other thread?
I would contact them personally if I were you. Quote: |

I'm very happy with my custom BC hotstamps, even though the flame mold is not my favorite. http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...ht=hill+valley

With the BCC, you're able to stamp and choose ANY of their colors since you want solids. If you provide the T-Molds to Blue Chip, they'll should be able to stamp them for you. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
