Chips: 21 | | Advice on ASM's...chip design & mold I'm planning on getting a set soon & need some info. As of right now I'll be getting a 500 or a 600pc. set of the A-Mold 312 edge w/hotstamping. But I'd really like to have the Horsehead Mold 3D14 edge w/hotstamping...accept that if I go that route, I can only afford a 300pc. set to start & add on later. Lend me some advice guys & thanks. |

Chips: 21 | | Re: Advice on ASM's...chip design & mold You're right...just couldn't remember! Still, it would be nice to have some of those even if I did have to do inlays, but like I said, I can only afford 300 of those if I got that way! |

Chips: 1,160 | | | Re: Advice on ASM's...chip design & mold you could save a bit by going with solid HHs and an inlay... or if you could live without an inlay, get circle square solids and label them. I seem to remember someone labeling those at some point. |

That said I guarantee at some point you're going to want the full inlay edgespot chips so you might as well go for it now and not be left with something you're not completely happy with. Keep in mind it does take a while to get ASMs made. |

Chips: 5,690 | | | Re: Advice on ASM's...chip design & mold The 3D14 edge spot is only available with a custom inlay, not hot stamping. You noted that if the 3d14's would be more expensive... it wasn't clear to me if you realised that your 3d14's would have an inlay as opposed to a hotstamp. I think maybe this is cleared up now.
I would actually go for the inlay with fewer chips, and add on later. ASM doesn't have a minimum quantity for a re-order if you add on to a previous order. In the end, you'll probably be happier. You can actually mix up the edgespots a little with a custom inlay too - as someone said, get some solids, along with the 3d14s and maybe something else that would suit your fancy. As meridian said, it depends a little on how big your game is, and what kind of game you're playing, but I think a 300 pc set could be pretty playable with a little planning. |

300 chips can go along way with proper planning. Before the big poker boom, i was using 300 chips for single table tournaments. It was then that we saw poker on TV with players having an abundant amount of chips. This was when we started thinking it's necessary.
If i were you I would not try and stretch my budget. I would focus on a small quantity and add on later. You will be much happier this way, trust me. |
