As I said earlier in this thread, I agree Chipco has the nicest feeling faces. Although I personally prefer the look and feel of a squarer edge, like the Sunfly. The rounded edge may make handling easier for some, but I can shuffle and twirl coins and Bicycle chips. The rounder edges make Chipcos look older and worn when in stacks to me. I know this is hair splitting, but whom among us isn't fanatical about every detail of chips.

Sure, Chipco has a money back guarantee. All good companies should on stuff like this. I think the point Joe is trying to make is that for the money, the company shouldn't have to give your money back or rerun the chips.

To be honest, I think Chipco is doing a disservice to themselves by using the white ring. This clearly makes it more apparent when an image is off-center. I know it's there for wear purposes. This would make more sense if all of their chips were perfectly flat or slightly thinner in the middle like they claim to be. If a ceramic chip is a spinner that means it is higher in the center and thus this will wear before the edge. Sure, you can sort your spinners and send them back, but again, why should you have to for the price they charge. In post #20, I gave my experience with Bally's LV casino chips. About 5% were off-center and I noticed one serious spinner. This was before I joined chiptalk, bacame a chip snob and started looking for such things. Many more probably escaped my attention. I have a couple Chipco samples that are acceptably off-center, but the majority are spinners. Not good.

Chipco is a pioneer and all other ceramic makers are playing catch-up, but they are chatching up fast. PI/BR Pro is coming out with a color palatte like Chipco. Joe is giving us the tools to size, space and align edgespots and edge text. 43mm chips are on the horizon. I bring this up to empahsize that an informed buyer is a happy owner. If a guy goes out and buys a Ferrari Enzo, thinking its the most bada$$ sports car, then pulls alongside another guy with a Koenigsegg CCR and gets his doors blown off, he is going to be pretty disappointed. Personally, I'll take the Bugatti Veyron. Just as soon as I win the WSOP for the second straight year.

I am all for salesmanship, but do it by proving that your product is better.

I am NOT badmouthing another company- I am pointing out facts that I see through consumer eyes. Same for Paulson-

The point I am trying to make is: people's definition of acceptability seems to have changed.

Has nothing to do with salesmanship- it has to do with: people go to Paulson and Chipco because purportedly theyre the best. I am asking what makes them the best if Paulsons are warped and Chipco face printing is way off center- and trying to find out why this is becoming acceptable to many.

I really want to hear someone say-- yup- I contacted Paulson, they admit their most recent run of chips were warped and they will replace them AND correct the problem. I want to hear someone say-- yea one order of Chipcos accidently went out with off center images and theyre replacing them- but what USED to be the RARE situation seems to be becoming the norm.

I see many posts tauting this company is the best- that company is the best- and the theme of this thread is: who makes the best custom ceramics....

I'm just not convinced anyone is the best anymore-

I see a chinese manufacturer listening to the voices about making an affordable product- I see them put the time and effort into making their molds TRUE with no warpage- I see them improve on ceramic molds and produce an accurate blank- and I see our pride and joy US company's products becoming less and less. It bothers me.

Your opinion about feel makes sense- if someone told me Chipcos feel better then any other chip and thats why theyre the best- I can understand that point.

Its the rest that doesnt sit well with me
