I just wanted to let you guys know that you can't upload a vector file in to the ChipLab, however everything you are editing inside the designer outputs as a vector file for print (the borders, backgrounds, etc.). If you have a vector file just send it to us and we can add it to your artwork. There is no additional cost for such additions. We can even add it in on the backend so you can play with it in the designer application.
I also wanted you to know that we use PDF files for output...but that's because it's an open source format that easily integrates with the rest of our software.
For Chipco's - choose us. Best prices, best editing tools, best turnaround times. If you want us to help you with designing your art we have full time artists...the fee is a flat $50.
Cheers - hope this finds you all very well,
Chase Schwatka | Thanks for letting us know how things work behind the scenes. |

Chips: 159 | | | Re: Who makes the best custom ceramics? ASSISTANCE PLEASE I don't have any custom ceramics myself, but in my quest for the right chip I did order a lot of samples, among them: NJ "Skulls", "American Beauties", "Desert Sands", "Mardi Gras", and "Martini Club" ; lots of Chipcos "Egyptians", "Suits", etc; and one I can't place called "The Casinos" that holdem claims is a chipco but is missing the white ring. I also am now the proud owner of a set of BRPRO's "Tiki Kings".
I would rate Nevada Jacks as the worst for image clarity, I found them fuzzy and hard to enjoy for that reason. The "American Beauties" are based on a very detailed image and I kept staring at them trying to discern more details (gee I wonder why) but failing. My "Skulls" sample left me wondering what all the hype was about, it is fuzzy and not impressive.
The Chipcos have both an excellent image clarity and the chips just feel nice. I would agree with those that say these are the best ceramics, at least that I've seen. The slight texture on the face doesn't detract from the image at all, and they sure seem like they will hold up well.
I'd then put the BRPRO's just below the Chipcos. They feel nice, have excellent image clarity and have a good feel and sound. The matte texture on the face is a bit more extreme than the chipcos and makes me worry that, over time, they may become scratched or degraded more easily than the Chipcos.
After reading this thread I'd really like to see some samples of the others, but for now I've chosen the BRPRO's because the balance of price and quality was right for me. They're not Chipcos but they're darned close. If we can believe Palmimports about the evolution of the BRPRO line then, hopefully, they're going to get even better. |

Quality of blank wise- I feel as do many others- that our blanks stand out amongst any blank out there- while chipco has a white ring- its easily done by us if we wanted to- but why mess with a good thing- our blanks are virtually spinless- which is more important then a white ring-
Right now Steve is due back down to finalize production- the ceramic room is organized-- and if you liked Br Pro chips- they will be even better.
Weve changed over to a hi gloss dealer button for 2007-added officially the hi gloss edge to all chips being produced as of 2/15, our new hybrid ceramics have been so well received we MAY not be able to even sell them if our casino deal comes to fruition- but we may pass on this offer and market the hybrids rather then be married to a chain of casinos- if they dont like it- too bad-
Were working on precise mathematics that we will give to members allowing GOOD text on edge and GOOD aligned edgestripes to be put into the hands of most of the designers and those good with Adobe Illustrator.
Have faith

Chips: 1,221 | | | Re: Who makes the best custom ceramics? ASSISTANCE PLEASE I just received my new Kokopelli's today from Gene at ABCgiftsandawards, and as I posted in the Kokopelli redux group buy thread, I am stunned beyond words at the beauty and quality of these chips.
I'm sitting here at work trying to take pictures but this new digital camera keeps using it's flash and I'm getting annoyed about that.... |

In my opinion, if you are serious about custom ceramics and price is a consideration for you than you should save your money until you can afford CHIPCOS. Good luck. | I just had the opportunity to look at three chipco jobs- one of the jobs in person last week- what baffles my mind is this-- the images are off center- not by a mm- ALOT. Colors were ok- nothing spectacular- nothing I cant do-- the order we just saw in person- most of the faces were way off center.
So, someone explain to me why, in my opinion, way too many jobs are " off centered"
Someone explain to me what youre getting for - I'm not sure- .79 a chip plus artwork fees etc-- not even sure what a Chipco costs but if I ordered a measly 500pc set from them, different image both sides and text on edge- what would my PER CHIP cost be after all incurred expenses...
MAYBE .85 a chip?
For my .85 a chip I want my printing REASONABLY centered-
So- someone here with reasonable intelligence please tell me- what am I getting for my money from Chipco that I am not getting from either myself, or Gene at ABC
I'm not looking to turn this post into a war-but a reasonable man or woman, who pays a premium for a product- should they not expect a degree of higher quality-- and if so- WHAT is that higher degree of quality- dont tell me Chipco makes casino chips-- tell me their printing is dead on precise- their colors-- NOONE else can print such vibrant colors- tell me something that makes sense to me..
from what Ive seen -- I am not impressed with Chipco LATELY...
nor am I impressed with Paulson LATELY
Yea I know- its been awhile since I pixxed someone off so its long overdue

Maybe there's a ceramic blank out there that I'm missing, but I've tried the following: NJ Skulls (samples), NJ Desert Sands (had a set), ABC WSOP Binion Tributes (samples), older Tikis (samples), and NJ Condado Beach (full set). Each of these came up way short of Chipco in feel IMO. |

Chips: 6,247 | | | Re: Who makes the best custom ceramics? ASSISTANCE PLEASE Chipco has a 100% money back guarantee on all of their chips. If someting is wrong, they have no problem replacing it, or giving you your money back. As far as feel goes, there is no comparison IMO. It's one thing to say how great your chips are, but to bad mouth another company on here seems petty to me.

Chips: 530 | | | Re: Who makes the best custom ceramics? ASSISTANCE PLEASE When I get my first custom set (not counting my labeled FCs, a full custom set) I want to go with ceramics. There's nothing like the feel of a Chipco to me, not even close. I went back and forth a lot when I got my Mr. Chip WSOPs, but the more I played around with the chips, the more I fell in love with the feel of Chipcos.
However, in terms of pricing, customer service, artwork, and edgespots, I know in my heart that I will get my chips done by a CT sponsor, whether it be PI, Mr. Chip, ABC, NJ, etc. - that time is a way in the future, so I have plenty of time to get samples and compare. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
