Sunfly Ceramics

Has anyone ever bought custom sunfly ceramics. Interested in hearing some stories about your chips. Good? Bad? I will be biting the bullet and getting some very soon. Im interested in hearing what they look like after hours of play, shuffling, and stacking. What kind of chip was used. Textured or smooth. Very Interested in the opinions out there.

Re: Sunfly Ceramics

I had mine done directly with Joe at PI (snowstorm on the design). I went with textured with the glossy edges and love them.

Here's a link (sorry for the crappy pics as I have not updated my camera yet):

They look very good in person.

Re: Sunfly Ceramics

I love mine. I have had them for about 8 or 9 months.

They are textured, and after lots of shuffling and play the are still in great shape.

Re: Sunfly Ceramics

I know they are not customs but Matt's WSOP replicas are sunflys and they look and feel great. Stack good, shuffle nicely (they "warm up" much quicker than Chipcos or NJ in my opinion), and the colors are great, very bright and not faded or spotty like some ceramics occasionally have.

Thats what I was hoping to hear wolf. I have a sample of the Lucky dragon chips and the color on the rolling edge seem to be coming away as I was shuffling? Not sure if I got a bad chip or what. Your chips look great the wolf.

A Ro, how do your chips look after hours of play, any wear, color loss? I mentioned some concerns above about the wear on the edges.

Sunfly ceramics in Chipco chip cases

One thing I have noticed is that the SunFly ceramics, due to thier thickness, throw in a wrench in the storage plans.

I have the great Chipco 100 chip storage boxes. They are made of a good, flexible clear plastic. They have 4 rows intended to hold 25 chips each. Probably true for Chipco chips. But not with the thicker sunfly's. Only 24 SunFly chips fit in each row, so the box only holds 96 chips. A Pisser, that is.

So for every 100 chips, thats 4 chips that don't fit in the box.
For 1000 chips, thats 40 outside the boxes. Crap. If only the SunFly's were a hair, and I literally mean a hair, thinnner.
