Am I spoiled?

Back in Mid November, I first got the itch to get a set of custom chips. After doing a little research, I found that ASM was the only realistic player at the time since they had the lowest minimum order. Well, as you know, on 11/28 BCC came out with their offer. This was impeccable timing for me and a few others out there. I had ordered ASM samples already and then got some BC samples. I much prefer the feel of the BC to the ASM.

Is this gonna spoil me? Did I stumble into the best custom deal ever known to man? I feel as though I did? WIll I ever come across a deal as good as BC just had, when you take into account all the edge spot patterns and colors (more base color choices would have been nice)? Even with the art fees, which added .32 to each chip, I'm still @ $1.12/chip for the heavier chip and I have the horseshoe and half moon and other edge spots to choose from.

I guess I just feel really lucky to have been in the right place at the right time. No offense to Jim, as I'm sure I would have been more than happy with a custom set from ASM: especially after having seen some of the sets people have posted on here.

Anyway, I plunked down my deposit to BC yesterday.

So, am I spoiled? Am I ruined for all chip-buying eternity?

Russ

Re: Am I spoiled?

Spoiled... hmmm

i just have this one metaphor for you...

Was the crack addict spoiled with their first taste of coke???
Did the dealer spoil the teenager by giving a free first sample???

I am addicted, and it all happened so fast....

Custom chipcos - on their way.
Custom BCC's - on their way.
Looking at ebay for a deal on paulsons.

And this site.... just another helpful dealer showing me all the places i can spend my money on my addiction ... so anyway, can anyone help me find some cheap PNY's???

I'd be ready for a 6-8 MONTH wait.

They are extremely backed up right now.

Re: Am I spoiled?

Lucky for me i have the custom chipcos expected in a couple weeks... hopefully this can take some of the sting off the 6-8 month wait for my BCC's??? Man i hope it does not take that long... i prepared myself for 3 maybe 4 months, but in talking with Mike yesterday i know they are very busy, he was not even able to tell me when the artist would get to my design.. ugh.. back to ebay... maybe a quick fix of something there.

Re: Am I spoiled?

Let's not forget the Protege's aren't even close to ready yet. They are so backed up my guess is closer to 10 months.

I wonder what made BCC decide to run this promotion at this time... Leads me to speculate something else is going on here. Anybody ever hear of the "economy of scale"?

That could have something to do with it. It is funny timing to offer it at the same time as they have a ton of casino chips to crank out prior to new years. Could definitely be an economy of scale scenario.

Re: Am I spoiled?

I hope Mike does not mind me quoting a part of an email I just received.

Quote:
The lead time for the chips is running around 8 weeks after the approval of your artwork. (Not 6-8 months.)
This should alievate some of the 6-8 month rumors so I doubt Mike will be mad.
