Chips: 42 | | | Chip Theme: Poker, Pictorial History Greetings All,
I hope you will forgive my long-windedness. My interest in poker, recently rekindled, has me seeking a new set of chips. It's been 20 years since I last bought poker chips, and back then all I could get were hot stamped Paul Son chips. After weeks of reading reviews and posts in various forums, I have come to the conclusion that I am not interested in fantasy casino chips, and none of the "theme" chips suit my interest. So, I have decided to look into the idea of creating my own set of theme chips. The History buff in me cries out for something based on a historical theme, and I have decided that a pictorial history of poker itself sounds promising. So my question is this: when you think of poker, what are those quintessential images that come to mind--19th Century riverboats, old west saloons &c.? |

Wild Bill Hickock comes to mind (although it's been done) |

Chips: 626 | | | Re: Chip Theme: Poker, Pictorial History Poker history is somewhat dubious but I guess I would think of Wild Bill Hickock, Bat Masterson, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Bill Jones and they likes of such gamblers or towns like Deadwood, Dodge city, Tombstone, Virginia city, Silverton or maybe some of the games it could have originated from, poque, As Nas, pochspiel, poke and the likes.. I don’t know that’s kind of a tough one! |
