Chips: 53 | | | Design help for chips, glassware, napkins, signs, etc. I have recently moved into a very nice house with two of my good friends. While it's obviously not permenant, we imagine being here for at least a few years.
We do a lot of hosting, be it for parties, movie screenings (home theater), poker games, BBQ, blackjack tournaments, craps tournaments, and general tomfoolery.
We'd love to have a logo, a common theme. We imagine it getting put on pint glasses, beer mugs, cigars, cocktail napkins, that sort of thing. I'd also love to get it on some labels for some custom chips down the line, poker, blackjack, craps, etc.
But, we don't have a logo. This of course is a problem. We go by:
The House at Jenifer Street
and
The Jenifer Street Card Room
As we'd be putting this logo on a lot, I think we'd want to go with the first, but maybe a second design for chip labels in the same style? But, I'm pretty sure that's overkill, hmm...
My inspiration draws from Clydes. For those of you who don't know, Clydes is a Washington DC restaurant group that has pretty decent food and a great upscale bar atmosphere. It's the place you go to order a glass of scotch or a manhattan after a long day at the office. My group of friends go there at least once a week, we're good friends with the servers and most of the bartenders. it is literally around the corner from our house, it takes about 3 minutes from door to door. (Chevy Chase Clydes)
View their website, and pictures of the restaurant here: http://clydes.com/main/RestaurantsPi..._Chevy_Chase_1
The logo, the upwardly sloping green "Clydes" text, is the look I'd like to pay homage to. Maybe have that read "The House" with "at Jenifer Street" underneath in small text.
So, that's what I'm working with. If there are any talented artists on here, I'd love the help. I'd be more than willing to compensate you with samples of anything we ordered, some token $$ (sadly, can't offer you what you'd probably deserve), or things of that nature.
Just a fun little things for a group of friends that love to entertain.
Thanks for any help! |

Chips: 53 | | | Re: Design help for chips, glassware, napkins, signs, etc. sn0w, I didn't even want to mention your name, as you are a bonified legend in my mind. You do some incredible work, and all of your designs are distinctly yours. Love them all!
I think, just to clarify for everyone, I'd be interested in two designs. One a freeform logo that could be put on anything, towels, napkins, glasses, cigar bands, etc, and then a chip label that would incorporate that logo.
So sn0w, Jambine, anyone one else, any crack you wanted to take at it would be incredibly appreciated. No pressure, no rush, do what you can, when you can, if you can.
Jambine, as for your picture of the chip, I like it! But I think we'd want something that wasn't exclusively poker, so the cards would be out. As for the style, you can see from looking at the Clydes logo and pictures, its very classic, simple, and understated, with a little bit of a retro feel. Old Vegas clays instead of the modern colorful ChipCo's, if you will |

I think I'm partial to the second one. I originally envisioned the Jenifer Street text flowing underneath House rather than on a straight line, so you might try experimenting with that, but this is an incredible effort, thank you so much!
jdunford, as for Maugus' poster, not only have I seen it, but I can't wait to buy one! The chips are some of the most beautiful chips I've seen, absolutley my current favorites. I'm not quite ready to sell of my Pharoah's and ChipCo's and buy a huge set, but I'm getting there. |

I'll see what I can come up with!
