Let me appologize to start with - I know this thread is out there, as I read it about a 3 weeks or so ago, but now I cannot find it again, and after having searched for two days off and on, I'm not using the right keywords, so I'll ask as SOMEONE surely knows...
There is a thread with a URL to a website where you download a template, into which you paste your 2d Graphics of rolling edges and tops, and upload the graphic to a website, which then generates a 3D mockup of your chips.
Where is that thread and/or website?
I've got my chip design pretty much finished, but still want to go over the rolling edge spot/color look again and to really see whats what, I'd like to see the chips in a 3D color mockup graphic of a stack; to see those virtual chips and how the edge markings would likely look.
Is it easy to throw together with 3D studio max (I can get access to that software if needed, but don't want to spend 4 days learning the software)..
Yeah, I'd seen the chipforge, but thats not what I'm thinking of. That is for clay chips. I recall someone had set up something more suited to ceramics. You got a page sized image download with specific spots where you would past in your graphics of the tops and edges and upload the modified page back to a website, which would send that through a 3d studio max sort of render engine to produce a 3d rendered sample form the graphics you pasted in.
