It occurs to me that the base color of ceramic chips is white/gray. Is it possible to improve on this by pretinting the blanks to a darker gray/black? To me, if my chips start devloping nicks and scratches, I would prefer that the underlying color be dark gray/black since it wouldn't be as apparent as light colored scratches.
Would it be difficult to do proper printing/colormatching on such a chip?

I honest have no idea what kind of printing is done on ceramics, but I have a feeling they would lose their "pop" and look super muddy - IF you could even print over black to begin with.
