No sh+t! No one is saying it doesnt matter just how much.
If you play with your buddies, it's probably no big deal. When I play with my buddies, I don't worry about it either, I trust those guys.

On the other hand, I have played in private games where foreign chips were brought in and the bank came up short. I've also played in games that were robbed by stealth, and by force - to the tune of over $4000 (1/2 NL). Fortunately, I wasn't there when it happened.

When you're playing with people you don't know well, security is a BIG deal.

Re: SECURITY! is it REALLY a big deal???

Their was a guy who cheated at one of the home tournaments I was at. He was an aquantance of a friend. I was playing in the other room, when one of the players from his table, approached me and said he was setting up the deck on his deal. This was one of the loser tables, and they were playing 2-4 cash game. I had two guys go out the back door and watch him through the bay window, sure enough he was setting up the deck. They grabbed him by the neck, and threw him out the door. He lost one of his shoes in the scuffle and left with out it. The table split up his chips and he was banned from every game I knew about after that. I came to find out after that, he was fired from the local poker room, for palming chips during the game and adding them to his tips. So you never know, who you might get at one of your games.
