Chips: 998 | | | Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip Okay, here's the deal:
I live in Germany, and getting some decent Chips here isn't really easy.
It got to my attention, thanks to chiptalk, that a gentleman from Sweden will sell good quality Ceramics for a more then reasonable price. WSOP & EPT Replicas, as well as customs.
Now rather then getting a used set, or a set I will replace anyway, I want to do some customs, but to be plain honest: I never designed a chip. To make a long story short: I worked 2 hours on the following design, and I would like some opinions on it.... Criticism is welcome, as I am a total Chip-Design Noob
Here's my first Idea on a Chip:
I want to make a 500 set with 3 denoms. Prolly 1, 5, 25. I still have the chance to add some more denoms later.
So please, dear Chiptalk Fellows, help a poor noob a bit
Thanks in advance!
Bernd

Chips: 1,617 | | | Re: Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip I am no chip expert... I have been trying to design/get designed my own custom set of ceramics for a week or more now. But I know what I like and what I don't like.. and I like this.
Great job, I love the color. What is it like a chocolate... I am kind of color blind but whatever it is I like it. I know I said that already but when you like something I guess you just like it.
Can't wait to see all the mockups
*EDIT* spelling

Chips: 2,447 | | | Re: Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip For your first time it looks great!
Just a couple things threw me of that Id change.
For the Denom, lower the 5 a bit, It looks to me as its not aligned properly.
Probobly doesnt matter but the bottom edgespot looks smaller than the other two.
Just my opinion, but anyway youve designed a great chip I like it alot. |

Chips: 260 | | | Re: Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip Looks nice to me. Its less common to have the denom on there twice, but in this case its good for symmetry. I worry a tiny bit that "regional" run together a little since its in cursive and might be smaller on a chip.
I don't see much adjustment necassary though, you did well. |

Chips: 1,617 | | | Re: Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip The more I look at it I wonder what it would look like without the pound symbol on it.. still two 5's but no pound. |

Know what I mean? |

Chips: 998 | | | Re: Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip First of all: Many many thanks for the kind words and the nice input, will try to answer all of the questions and keep you all informed on the process. An altered design is on its way
@ JM: Thats an ASM I did only as my avatar. Sadly these ASM's are no option for me, because pricing would be way too much. For a set of 500 ASM's would be around $500+, plus like what... $100 or $200 Shipping from US to Germany.
For the Sun-Fly Ceramic customs I pay around $0.44 a chip, no other costs except shipping, what is like maybe another $20 from Sweden to Germany. Total Cost: Way under $300 for my Custom Ceramics. I think my Wife can handle $200-$300, if I pay like $600, I think she will play Baseball with my balls.
@ Punk1o1: Thanks for the hint on the bottom Edgespot. You were right, changed it in the new Design. Also the Denom will be altered, I think I will settle with a single Denom, and without the Euro Symbol...
@ Str8edg: Aye, I will remove the Euro Symbol... with higer Denoms like maybe 100 those would take up too much Space I guess...
Again: Thanks a lot for the Input on my first real Chip! Updated Image coming in a few hours
Edit: Took a bit less time
Edit 2: Will change the Yellow 10 a bit. I am not too foind of it, might get a mor red/bordeaux touch

Chips: 1,617 | | | Re: Need Opinions on my First Custom Chip wow... speechless...
Shows how worldly I am right... it was a Euro symbol and I called it a pound thing... silly me.
Are you just doing the four denoms? Will both side be the same? What will it cost me for a sample set?! |

Also not sure if both sides need the same print, or if theres a chance for different sides. Matt from MrChip in Sweden ( http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/mrchips-offers/ )will ask, what is possible with SunFly Chips.
I just saw you want to do your own set. If I can help you in any way, just drop me a PM. I could use the base of my chips, and customize Text, Logos, Colors all to your liking, should be no problem at all.
