Nevermind the humongous volume of chips that were ordered through this GB are all pretty good reasons for the long lead times.
Also, they wanted to finish shipping all of the first round of GB chips for CTers before they started working on the chips from this second round so that everyone got at least their first orders in hand.I know my order was waiting on replenishment of a couple of colors during this process, which has delayed it. | So does all that make it ok for them to lie about when they are going to be sent out? Does that make it ok for them to promise they are going to be delivered and miss the date again?
If they would just be up front about how long it could take it would save them tons of trouble. Most people arent as understanding as you when it comes to a big purchase like this. If I found out that my order was delayed another 4 weeks because they put someone elses order ahead of mine because they complained to cancel I would be STEAMING!!! How is that a good business practice? I understand the machines breaking and they can relay that information to the comsumer instead of saying that they will be shipping next week over and over.

Imagine that you submit your artwork, and approve it. Then someone else asks to use you design for their chips because they like the way it looks. That person then submits their artwork well after yours.
Now, 12 weeks later, that person is posting pics of their chips, and yours haven't even been started yet. Welcome to my ASM experience.
No amount of understanding can change the fact that ASM is still knowingly mis-quoting delivery times. That is the part that is the problem. The length of time it takes to complete an order is fine, if you knew going in that it was going to take that long. However, repeatadly being told wrong information on purpose is NOT fine. It's bad business.
The funny thing about all of this is that I ordered my chips because of the special edges being offered. Like many of you, I wanted to be sure that I could order these in the future. After all of this, there is about a 1% chance of me ever ordering anything from them. I don't like dealing with a company that will voluntarily give me bad information over and over again.
Oh well, you live and learn I guess. |

Oh well, you live and learn I guess. | I hear you man, I will probably order more in the future but luckily (for me) I got my chips before people who ordered before me. I feel for you guys and I dont really get why they put a rucs on mine. I never complained about how long it was taken or anything. Im glad I have my chips but I COMPLETELY understand everyones frustrations. I also want to make claer that all ASM needs to do is quote a longer expected delivery and stick to that. If they are early... awesome. If not, then no problems because thats what was told.
I have much love for ASM but just feel that they can improve in this area.

Chips: 233 | | | Re: WORD from ASM...... Hmmm... I totally missed this thread.
I've also experienced several delays from ASM in regards to my 150 chip add on order.
March 31 - order placed
June 15 - CC charged, told will be going to Portland within next 2 weeks
July 7 - Not on last truck, to Portland within 10 days
July 27 - Clay has finally made it, will go out next truck
August 3 - Leaving to finishing plant on next truck
August 11- Left today, estimated August 28 ship date to me
Since this is an add on order I have not let it get to me...If it were my original order I would probably be very irritated. Seems like a lot of things have come up, but ASM has been great with responding to my questions and trying to help out...I won't hesitate to order again.

But I do agree that they should set the expectation long and then hopefully surprise you with them early.

If they did that then awesome, not much else someone can do when something breaks.

After hearing about all the people trying to get their orders moved up by threatening to cancel I was starting to get concerned that I'd be waiting fo-evah to get mine. Then I got this nice note in my email today: Quote: |

Thanks, Glenda | Given the uncertainty that has beset many other orders I will temper my enthusiasm and just hope that I see them sometime in September. |

It has been 12 weeks today since I got my artwork approved, my card was charged sometime in very late July, like the 24-27, and I have still not heard anything else. I am wondering if I should call, but I dont want to be a bother, but I agree it is a little frustrating. |

They have encouraged me to send an e-mail at the end of each week for the past month....Just don't e-mail them every day or anything, but I would definitely send one today to see the status of your order..
