Labeled ASM's

I've got a question for the folks that were involved in the blank ASM group buy last year. I'm thinkin gof getting some ASM blanks and Labeling them (instead of doing inlays, in case I feel like changing the labels).

What labels (size and type) were used and how are they holding up? (pics would be appreciated) These might be my alternative cash set and if they label well I may do it. I only have inlay ASM samples so I can't tell which ones may have a recess for labels...if any.

Thanks.

Re: Labeled ASM's

There is a thread in here somewhere on that. I think it was the “H” mold that is slightly recessed

Re: Labeled ASM's

I was curius about long term hold up of the labels. I think H-molds have no recessa t all, I think the HH mold might be it.

Re: Labeled ASM's

I think it was an HH mold. I remember seeing a thread on it. They were die cut, cog shaped labels. But I'm not finding anything in search

Re: Labeled ASM's

Search for rippedsheets here. These are the best labels as they are super thin and expensive. Cins03 had a custom set of C/S that he labeled this way.

Re: Labeled ASM's

Look at the pics in this recent M2M thread. Cog labels on the circle square mold. Labels are from rippedsheets as mentioned above.

I saw that thread, that's what gave me the idea, but I'm pretty sure the square/circle ASM's have no recess. What's expensive in label talk? I mean .10 per label isn't bad. Is it more than that?

Re: Labeled ASM's

You are right..the circle square mold has no recess. I really like the way the cog labels look and have thought about putting labels on some ASMs for a while now. I have never messed with labels before and wondered how easy/hard it was to apply them. I would definately go with the vinyl labels when the time comes. Let me know what you find out about price...I am interested myself.

See here
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...t=rippedsheets

The labels cost $5/sheet of 63 (last years prices).

You'd need a minimum of 16 sheets for a 500pc set (1000 labels). Throw in printer errors and application errors (difficult to apply per cins03). You'd probably maybe 18-20 sheets = .16 - .20 per chip. This doesn't cover any add'l printing cost, if any.

Re: Labeled ASM's

The fleur de lis mold is available soon and has a recessed center.
