I sent PC.com an email asking what my status was on my chips , probably around Monday. I haven't gotten a reply yet and I imagine they are busy. I'm not in a rush, just wondering what kind of a time-line I'm looking at . Life goes on... |

Very nice baby there capt!
200 orders?? Holy crap! That's way more than I would have guessed. I figured they were pretty busy lately, but that's nuts! |

Cathy wrote back and said they were all going to be off until after the 4th. |

I am not really hurting for chips. I have multiple other playable sets available.
BTW Nice car. Very nice.

Anyhow, I just wanted to let you guys know that the willingness of ASM to offer us such a great variety of chips has presented them with a high mix/low volume production scheduling nightmare that accounts for some longer lead times. | Definetely no anger on my part. I can only imagine what a project this on their side. I am grateful that they allowed what they have and I can live with a wait. |

Glad to hear they are taking a vacation. Hope they win some money, but not too much. Wouldn't want anyone to quit their jobs |

Same here. Even though I'm getting solid color chips, I think it's great that so many options have been offered.
Capt, thanks for talking to Jim on our behalf, you were 100% accurate from my perspective. Quote: |

Besides the logistical complexity of arranging the scheduled arrival of a huge mix of colors, there are also significant setup times involved in switching the production from one color to another. So... it's always the weakest link in the chain (that last color needed to complete the set) that determines the ship date. He did mention that sometimes they're able to start the bulk of this chips (which is when your card gets charged), but then may have a delay (for reasons mentioned above) in getting the last chip of the set made. But having the bulk of the order ready means that you'll get your chips ASAP when the last color is finished. I think that's a fair compromise (maybe having your card charged a bit earlier, but getting your set faster).

Thanks Capt. Good timing. I was about to send an e mail inquiry that I will hold off on. (But in case they read this at pc.com -- I am one of the original January 31, 2006 orders still not fulfilled but charged CC in early April). ATHY!!?? I was beginning to wonder though as I begin to see orders from the second round be delivered. Quote: |
