No it's not a really good deal. Buying chipcos with that particular layout for .95c a pop is the equivalent of buying a bentley with the interior of a pinto. IMO there is no point in getting a "custom" ceramic unless it's yours from the ground up.
I had a price chart posted awhile back but the data got lost while i was trying to revise it (have no idea where that spreadsheet went), but on a set of 1000 you'd be looking at the ballpark of ~$1200 or so when all is said and done (artwork fees, shipping, etc.) for a completely custom chipco.
Personally, i went with the BR Pro's through
Lynbark because i just couldn't justify the price of chipcos. About 90% of the graphic quality of a chipco at nowhere near the cost, in hindsight if i could go back and do it all over again i'd go the same route even if i could justify the cost for chipcos. Brent was a pleasure to work with as well. As for the other companies and their chips you'd have to get info from others. The only chips i can't recommend are the nevada jack ceramics, while they're easily the cheapest the graphic quality is muddy compared to
all of the others.
