Probably not since it's reserved for that one set alone. They might be able to make a bigger or smaller one, or another shape in general, but I doubt they'd open it up if it is clearly reserved.

I visted Chipco in Raymond, ME - just outside of Portland. The office front was as far as I could get - but the equivical answer at the time was NFW. They will not do another Octagon for home use. The only reason sited was casino client protection from potential counterfitting. We can only hope - but I seriously doubt they will offer a new an exciting octagon chip.

Best bet i'd imagine is palm imports or someone else willing to suck up the cost of having a mold made. Personally i find it funny what the big boys won't touch (shaped inlays, plaques, etc.), the home market is starting to get saturated and these are the things that people are starting to gravitate towards. Whomever can offer these things first is going to tap a lucrative new market.

I completely agree with your statement. Think back when they started offering custom clays, a huge boom ocurred. Now everyone can get their hands on a nice set of custom chips. Those of us that want to be different from the norm, don't have that option anymore. Plaques are starting to become popular, HPC has taken the steps to offer affordable custom plaques. I saw a thread where PalmImports may start offering shaped inlays. We can cross our fingers and hope that maybe someone will see the potential in the octagon or other shapes and offer that to us as well.
Till then guess I will just order a bunch of the Egyptian $1k octagons! Darn I have to order more chips! [/endsarcasm]

If you ask me, the idea of reserving the octagon for casinos with the intention of security is just bizzarre. With the amount of customization available, the same arguement can be made for ordinary clay or ceramice chips. Very odd!
