Im trying to decide if I should increase the size of my 750 chip pahaoh set or hold out and maybe sell and get something else. These are my only experience with high end poker chips but from what I have heard I probalby wont find anything better. The fact that there are so many Pharaohs on the market, the value seems to have dropped a little bit in them as well.

Is there anything down the line from Paulson or anyone else that I should wait for or should I go ahead and stick with the Pharaohs?

If you love them and the numbers you have support all of the sizes and types of games you play then I would just keep them, enjoy them, love them, and use your money to buy another set of quality chips. There are plenty of them out there and they are like potato chips - nobody can have just one. Maybe broaden your horizons by trying a nice set of ceramics or even doing a set of custom chips?

Well Im not really looking to buy a whole other set, just a set big enough set of chips to do whatever I want with it pretty much. I want to have enough chips to do a 20 person tourny comfortably and such.

I guess it really depends on whether you are trying to get one big set, or to have a number of options, cash, tourney or whatever.

So, planning masive tournaments, or just want more choice come game night?

I am of the school of thought to keep tourney and cash separate.

And I actually take it a bit further!

Cash set: 700 custom ASMs, 25cent,$1,$5,$25,$100
Tourney Set 1 (Heads Up), 200 Plain HHs ASMs, Pink and Imp Blue
Tourney Set 2 (Single Table), 300 BPC WSOP Replicas
Tourney Set 3 (Multi Table), AT LEAST 1000 PI Bellagio Replicas (coming soon, I hope).

Thats not a bad idea to have a seperate low denom set of a different nice type of chip for cash games. Maybe I'll sell my 200 .25/1$ pharaohs and use that money to buy more 25$, 5$, 100$ and 500%, even though the blue denom pharaohs are my favorite i never get to use them.

the correct thing to do is to buy more, INTENDING to sell the ones you have and telling anyone that might need to be told that you intend to sell them,

BUT

you never actually sell them. You just buy more.....

A while back my wife made a 2 chip set rule, and 1-2 chips sets in transition (to be sold).



I always have thw same 2 sets in transition though!!!
