Chips: 947 | | | Question for Ceramic Chip Owners I have heard recently and have had some experience with some samples of ceramics wearing out pretty quickly. I am talking mostly about the printed image and not the chip itself. I don't think there is any problems with the chip itself wearing down.
For those of you that currently own ceramics, I am curious: How well are your chips holding up and for how long have you owned them. Also, what kind of use do they get? Manufacturer? etc.
Pictures would be helpful too. Thanks,
Z
PS. I am sure I will get negative rep for this thread but this is intended for informational/educational purposes. This thread should not be considered as a pot shot at ceramics. Mearly an educational experience. |

Chips: 203 | | | Re: Question for Ceramic Chip Owners My Desert Sands have not worn at all, even with shuffling a stack constantly for weeks. They broke in, but the image has not worn at all. |

Chips: 19 | | | Re: Question for Ceramic Chip Owners I got a set of custom Chipco’s from HPC last November, and they have been used at least weekly since then. I don’t see any wear at all on the edge (or face). I recently re-ordered another 250, and they look just like the older ones.
I don’t know what kind of samples you have, but they shouldn’t be showing any wear. Even in a casino that would take (at least) months of use, which is about a lifetime for a home set. Maybe the edge graphic was too thin, or defective somehow, when the chips were made. |

Chips: 600 | | | Re: Question for Ceramic Chip Owners I have 800 NJ Skulls and they have held up quite nicely over the past year or so. However, I posted this elsewhere as well, I recently used my chips at a friends house and 4 of them chipped on the edges. I'm not quite sure how..the only thing I can think of is that the floor in my friend's house is a tile floor and several of the chips were dropped. I'm assuming that's what cause dit as we were't whipping them at each other or anything like that I was quite bummed I must say |

Chips: 255 | | | Re: Question for Ceramic Chip Owners Ceramics should hold up very well for normal home use. I wouldn't worry about them wearing out. If you drop them, they may chip but so would any clay chip. Casinos use ceramic chips too albiet there are fewer and fewer. In my recent trip to Vegas the only ceramic chips I got were at Palms and Bally's/Paris. Everyone else had clay. Luxor had chipcos but went clay and I'm sure there's a few more. |

If it's a total change of chip type they *can't* have been ordered destroyed?

Chips: 1,483 | | | Re: Question for Ceramic Chip Owners Okay, I haven't used my custom ceramics in a while, but I want to say that they are in fact fading some.
I will check when I get home tonight to be sure. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
