Chips: 178 | | | ELLE's house ASM design comments? Like everyone else i'm trying to come up with a design for an ASM set. Any /all comments, suggestions welcome. The inlay is a mirror image of my initials, but my question is "would you have a problem playing with this set"? ---- Using one color for the base color of all chips ----- The spots progress and are large but they are the only color designation for denominations. Do you think this will be too confusing?
Traditional colors and progresive spots. The "5" on the red chip needs to be larger and the "25" on the green needs to be smaller. Any thing else look like a problem? Brown for the $100 chip? The width of the "LE" on the green and the gold chip looks thinner than the others, but it must be the color combinations because it's not. thanks for the help. |

Also the denominations are very small, and difficult to read. I think it's a combination of the font, size and color. |

Chips: 5,690 | | | Re: ELLE's house ASM design comments? Hmmm... I like the design. I'm wondering if there is a font that would be easier to read at small sizes - one that has a uniform thickness. It is difficult to make out the 5 on the 500 chips.
I don't think it would be confusing, especially with the higher denom chips where the edge spots take up a large proportion of the chip. My only concern is the $1 chip, which just has two thin edge spots. I understand why you chose them in the progression, but I wonder if with that little colour it would difficult to identify them on edge. Initially I thought perhaps a 314 would be better, but then I realised that it would not go well with the set, so maybe a 414 like the $5 would be better.....? I'm not sure exactly, just my initial reaction.
I see the "thinner line" effect on the $1000 chip especially - perhaps if you just made the traced line a lighter colour that would alleviate the problem. It is a little dark compared to your edge spots anyway.
Are you going to do a full bleed on the grey background? I see the white circles in the mock-ups, but I'm not sure if that is intentional or a product of chip forge. |

Chips: 178 | | | Re: ELLE's house ASM design comments? I agree that the first two chips could use some more color, I'll play around with 212 and 312 maybe 414 on the "one" that might help. Fonts need to be adjusted. What about dropping the denom completely on the $1000? And if ASM will do a full bleed that would be great. |

If you like the color combos, you might just invert the base and edgespots like this. Just a thought.... |

However, if you have your heart set on it I would suggest maybe making the background color of the inlay the same as the edgespot color... that would help set the different chips apart. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
