Chips: 6,179 | | | Chinese chips-- are chinese chips We ordered some custom chinese ceramic chips-- they came in for our customer--- long story short-- we tossed em in the garbage. The chinese STILL cant equate price and quality-- cheap price is always cheap quality.
THe printing sucks-- the colors were not even CLOSE to what we sent them in artwork, and to make things worse- they dont stack-- there's a warp in the center of MANY of the chips. I wont even go into how many chips were cracked. THe good news-- they will gladly replace these defective chips.. WHEN WE REORDER!!. Needless to say, thats not going to happen. THe USA manufacturers have nothing to worry about with lower pricing from CHina for these chips-- the chinese quality sucks.
We use USA made blanks as MOST of us that do these chips use-- and there's a reason. While we cant do 20,000 chips for the same price as china does-- at least we are lower in price then china on small orders-- and ALL of our chips will stack, the colors are correct, and there's no warpage in the center of the chip. Can't wait to hear from anyone else who ordered chinese chips. |

Chips: 153 | | | Re: Chinese chips-- are chinese chips Dude, maybe it's you who can't cant equate price in proportion to quality. You are, after all, the person who made the purchase.
It's one thing to bash the manufacturer or the quality of chips. But to call them chinese chips, well, that's wrong. You have said, "the chinese quality sucks." I think I know what you're trying to say, but your phrasing is ALL WRONG, and disrespectful. |

Chips: 1,828 | | | Re: Chinese chips-- are chinese chips I think this thread in pretty funny coming from this company for a few reasons: - This company's name is "Palm Imports".
- The company profile says "Located in Daytona Beach Florida , Palm Imports is a major importer, distributor and manufacturer of gaming supplies and accessories including poker chips and chip sets"
- They carry an abundance of dice and other composite chips. http://www.palmimports.com/chip%20images/index.html
- His comment about the chips being warped and not stacking well is pretty amusing once you see the picture of their ceramics below.

I think I know what you're trying to say, but your phrasing is ALL WRONG, and disrespectful. | Well, time will tell as far as the quality of the product-- there are 2-3 main manufacturers of these chips now-- our one factory who did this order doesnt quite have it down yet-- it is NOT SUN -FLY ( whom we know well) but- again- after 7 years of doing business with China, countless trips there, and financial interests in a factory ( ONLY to keep quality control in check) we've still been unable to make quality of product their main concern. I think in time Taiwan will produce this product-- it will be more expensive BUT there is no doubt the quality issue will be resolved.
In the meantime, if the US producers can keep small order pricing in line or slightly above china pricing-- my money will go to the USA manufacturer. We know them all well, theyve been a great asset in helping us in the years ( and we also help them) so hopefully the readers will keep their money going to the USA companies who pioneered this product.
Now, if I could ONLY sell the 1000 sets of DICE chip I still have gathering dust I would be a happy camper. |

** I'll STILL support the USA manufacturers even if the price is a few beans higher

Chips: 1,925 | | | Re: Chinese chips-- are chinese chips Ok, I'm not 100% clear on this. When you say those bad things about the 'Chinese chips' do you mean Sun fly?
If so, I think you have to look again. My chips from them are 100% flat, no warping or anything, the colours are very accurate (and working in printing I know how hard that is) and I had no defects (like chipped or broken chips)
What's with the hostility towards these chips? I don't get it. Is it 'lets bash China' day or something? |
