The denom on the bottom seems upside-down compared to the rest of the text.
It would be nice if the denom font was a bit larger, but I don't know how you could accomplish that. Maybe make the rest of the text a little smaller?

It would be nice if the denom font was a bit larger, but I don't know how you could accomplish that. Maybe make the rest of the text a little smaller? | The only reason that I did this was because the $5000 will not see as much play as the others. I wanted the BULLETS to be in the mix with my games. That is the only reason.
As far as the KA. Suits rank from Hearts being the HIGHEST to SPADES the lowest. I was trying to show the "TRUMP" nature of the HEART being on top of the spade.
As far as the the DENOM being upside down??? Not sure about that. What do you mean? |

Chips: 2,190 | | | Re: Constructive Criticism needed....... Look at the direction of the text and then look at the BOTTOM denom. It appears though the text travels around the inside of the inlay in one direction, and that the denom should be turning with the text, therefore making it seem upside down. I think it's ok, but I can see where others would see it as off.

Let me rephrase then....design wise, from the thousands of chip combinations I've tried to design and from all the ones I have in my collection, the 1/4 seem a lot nicer.

Chips: 5,690 | | | Re: Constructive Criticism needed....... I'm a little ambivalent about the chocolate/grey combo. I really like the chocolate chips, but I'm not sure grey is the best edgespot choice. Blue might be nice - it is only present one other time in your sequence. Yellow and chocolate are nice, but obviously that would be a bad choice given your $1000... anyone else have thoughts?
I like the 412 spots, although i might have gone 312 for the $1000 and then 412 for the $5000, just to make it extra special. Alternatively, I might have chosen solid for the NCV and used the 614 (I think that's correct) for the $5000.
I think I might also consider rotating the denom on the bottom 180 degrees such that it is "in line" with the text.
FWIW, the order of the suits is spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs (I.e., spades > hearts....). I had the same reaction to the AKo being on the $5000 chip (I would have made it the $25), but your "in play" reasoning makes sense. (I thought perhaps you were one of those "Stupid aces always gets cracked!" people.) Perhaps make the AK both spades? As the only suited Ace it might stand out a bit. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
