Some grammatical feedback that I'll probably wind up regretting sending, later: if the proper name is "II Deuce", and your meaning is "that which belongs to 'Deuce'", then the apostrophe is in the correct place. However, if the proper name is "II Deuces", then the apostrophe should be after the "s", not before it (though some would say the proper possessive would be "Deuces's").
I like the design elements you have assembled. Everything is there that you need, and nothing really that you don't.
My initial reaction/ideas are:
I prefer the type of roman numeral with connected horizontal lines on the top and bottom. If the roman numeral were smaller, and maybe even black, it might stand out more and give a little more room for "Deuce's Poker Room" and the cards, which look great but are a little bit cramped at the bottom.
The yellow sunburst pattern in the background is nice. I like it on both sides of the chip. On the back, it would be cool to see the "5" in the foreground and the silhouette of Kentucky behind it somehow.
Hope this helps. It looks like you are well on your way to a sweet set of chips.
I appreciate the feedback. It definitely gives me some ideas I want to consider. Specifically the pictures of the cards. I like the cards on the chips, but I couldn't find any clipart so I had to use a digital photo.
Also, this was created in Microsoft Word. I would assume there is a better program to use to keep the work "tighter" when zoomed in on. Any recommendations?
Finally, do you all think this will fit on a label without being too crowded. Never having done this before, that is one of my major concerns Thanks again.
Ideally you would want to create this as a vector in Illustrator or FreeHand... Second to that and the most common thing would be to use Photoshop. I have all three programs as well as the clip art you're looking for. I'm at work right now but I'll take some time and put something together for you this evening and send it your way. If you should decide to go at it yourself you will want to make sure you are at 300dpi and I would recommend using CMYK colors vs. RGB but this is not a huge deal because the manufacturer can always convert it to CMYK. It is very important to insure the higher resolution however. 150dpi would be the absolute minimum and regardless you will also want to create it slightly larger than the final version would be i.e. for a 7/8" inlay I would make it 1.5" or even 2"...
