New Paulson Homeset- Why not the Pharaoh's inlay?

As I was working on a response to the "Which set is better?" thread re: the Apache/HoldemPokerChips v JohnWhite/Matt designs, this thought came to mind-

What was missing in the Pharaoh's GB from the original intent?

1) A nice mold that included concentric circles
2) Shaped inlays
3) Different edge patterns

Isn't that what this homeset is offering? OK, its not a "Pharaoh's" mold, but its better than the "Paulson Chips".

The last things I'd wish for are 1) more edge spot options than the three we have and 2) textured inlays (which they've said no to).

If we could go this route, we could completely replace our existing set or just individual denominations with the new ones. The Pharaoh's would now have Primary and Secondary versions!

None of this is to take away from Matt's work on the top hat inlay. I've been happy with what I've seen (some versions have been better than others). But, I think the Pharaoh's is an excellent, outstanding inlay.

Thoughts?

Greg- Is this even possible?

Enough with the Pharohs. The market is flooded with them. Im also sick of the Fantasy Casino's. I'm looking foward to bigger and better paulson chips. IMO

I understand that point of view, but IMO the Pharoah's inlay is so much better than either of the two new Paulson inlays that it makes me wish it was an option.

Yes, the Pharaoh's would look great on the new mold. The Pharaoh's still look great the way they are..... I just wish we had a $5000 dollar chip!!!

Re: New Paulson Homeset- Why not the Pharaoh's inlay?

In December Trademark asked me to evaluate the options for molds and colors for a new Paulson home set. They told me that they were allowed only three edge spot layouts for taht new set and asked that I suggest a progression. I half-asked about putting Pharaoh's out on new edges, and they said it was surely possible.

Is this something some of you might be interested in?

Re: New Paulson Homeset- Why not the Pharaoh's inlay?

Ten -

It would be difficult to improve on the best Paulson home set available today. Those that liked the Pharaoh's already own them. And while those that didn't like them didn't purchase them, I don't think it was because of the edge spots; most didn't like the mold. The next logical change/addition to the Pharaoh's would be a $5,000 chip. By the way, you can put me down for several hundred should you decide to go forward before someone else truly produces a better home product. Just my .02.

Re: New Paulson Homeset- Why not the Pharaoh's inlay?

What I would like to see is this iteration of the pharoahs. Why does Paulson/GPI have to be such a stick in the mud?

And, what's more, quit acting like the Pharoahs are passe now. I recall people pining away when they were waiting.
