resurrection: design "consult"-who's for hire?-referrals?

following along behind jello-broom and 99%evil and ithers, i am interested in getting my hot-stamp off the ground now that my skulls are spoken for...

i am in no rush (have faux's on the way to tide me over) but would like to get started on the idea...

I posted a very rough mock-up here a while ago, but i have not the computer tools nor the computer or creative skills to complete the design...e.g getting the fonts and over all size just right, proportions, smoothing the pixels of the symbol, working on the wording...

who here is "for hire" in this realm? and what is the "going rate"?

contact me with referals if you all would.

thanks

BTW was thinking of changing "Whiskey" to "Cocktails" in the lower arc..

and the name of my "lounge/club/room(whatever)" is still a bit tentative, but likely to stay..

thanks

Re: design "consult"-who's for hire?-referrals?

I have no problem with the "Evil Eye" icon except one:

Even with the posted link to the "larger art" is hard to determine exactly what it should look like.

I'll be happy to recreate it in a vector (sharp edged) format, if I can just find a better example on-line somewhere. My first few minutes of searching have come up empty.

If you can point me to a link or an image that is a bit clearer than your imageshack link, I can start with making a print ready version of the icon, and we can take it from there.

(edit) Oh and let me add... The more information you can give me the better it will be for both of us. Do you have a "theme" or "feel" in mind? Fun and fancy, serious and stoic, based on some ethnic preference (Irish, French, African, etc...) ?

The theme will grealy determine the font style and how to interact it with the icon. Thanks!

Re: design "consult"-who's for hire?-referrals?

Well....

That link doesn't show me much more than your original graphic does.

I can "estimate" what I think that shape is, but if there is anything better, it will be to your advantage in the end. There appears to be details the low-res image you are linking, that just don't show properly.

I'll see what I can get going with the font and style around the outside first, while you search for a better image for me to recreate for the icon.

I'd help the search, but in google moorish "evil eye" just has too many hits to sort through...

Re: design "consult"-who's for hire?-referrals?

A few ideas to think about.

REMEMBER the icon thing is just an estimation at this point, I roughly traced it in Illustrator just as a representation. Get me better art, and I'll get you a better icon.

I think is should be Cocktails - Poker Room - Good Eats b/c the C & GE have same # of characters and PR could be centered.

Re: design "consult"-who's for hire?-referrals?

those are great mock-ups...!! i will have some more time later to look these over but great starts!! farther than i'd ever go...

i will let you know my likes/dislikes when i have a bettter chance to sit down and stare at these..

i agree with Fins idea tho...besides then it splits up the "food and drink" and put the pokerroom as the center peice..also i was thinking since i had written FinestKind as one word, GoodEats should be as well...with caps as such...

1malt

keep em coming as you have time..no hurries/ no worries...and thanks a whole lot!

still looking for the symbol...but you are kind of on the money with it...
