Still struggling with my inlay

Here is my first design
http://chiptalk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13543

I contacted pokerchips.com with my art work.
I was told that
- font size might be too small
- inlays are almost impossible to get perfectly centered so my 'circle' may not be even all around (does it look bad if it isn't centered?)
- there isn't enough contrast between some body/edgespot combinations.

I tried bigger font size (I had to change 'FINLAND' to 'FI'), removed the circle, made some changes to colors, tried various fonts etc.

Right now I'm happy with the chip colors. Comments are still welcome..

1 Gray / White
5 Red /Arc Yellow
25 Green / DG Green
100 Black / Imperial Blue
500 Purple / DG Pink
1000 Yellow / DG Yellow

I might also order ½ and 5000 chips.
5000 would be Brown / Orange (or DG Orange).
At the moment I don't have any ideas for ½ chip color.
It would be without edgespots. Is it possible to use dayglo colors for body?
Should it read '0.5', '0.50' or '½'? Help me!

I'd like to have comments and suggestions...

(3) Circle outside the text

Re: Still struggling with my inlay

My opinion is that option #1 is best.

I don't believe you need a circle, only because the circular text orientation gives the illusion that there's already one there in a subtle fashion.

No Circle, original font looks best to me depending how you work out the size issue. Black chip is very nice, the others need more contrasting edge spots for sure.

#1 is good. Yeah, you can order chips with a Dayglo body base.

Re: Still struggling with my inlay

I actually like the look of the circle inside the text. Without is OK. Have you considered dropping the FI and just going with Helsinki?

Re: Still struggling with my inlay

I like option 1 without the circle.

Regarding off-centered printing, it is noticable on some of my chips, but it's not THAT noticiable. I think the circle would make it a lot more noticable.

Here are mine:

I also really like the black inlay.

Re: Still struggling with my inlay

I agree, the first one is the best.

(1) No circle

#1 (no circle) looks the cleanest...would be my choice...font-wise as well...

Re: Still struggling with my inlay

take out anything that will indicate a mis-centered print. Dont worry too much about not having enough contrast between the body and edgespots. They always say that for some reason. Check out my chips in the Gallery and see for yourself

Re: Still struggling with my inlay

#1 by far. #2 is also nice but #1 is tops
The last couple of designs look a little to busy. The text made it look like things were too compressed. Good luck
