labels question

I'm thinking about getting some nexgen's and adding my own lables to them. What looks better on these chips, matte finish or glossy? I'm afraid that the glossy finish will look out of place in the middle of a poker chip.

Any thoughts?

Re: labels question

That was my original thought also. Here is a rough draft of one of the images I think I'm going to use. I've been a big fan of this type of artwork for a long time.

Also, I tried to match up the writing and the chip edgespots with color chart given in a different thread. The colors don't match up correctly in the picture, so I hope they are a better match when I get the chips.

Re: labels question

I would go with the matte, I have both glossy and matte and the glossy tends to shine just the right way under the correct light which unables you to see it anyway..

Re: labels question

IMO matte finish is the way to go. Glossy looks a little cheap, like your trying to dress up a cheap chip instead of being more subtle

Re: labels question

I'm in the same boat trying to decide between paper and vinyl labels. My inital thought was to go with the vinyl, but I love the matte look and I'm leaning towards going with the paper labels. Which matte spray should I use? Thanks

Re: labels question

Go with vinyl labels. When you get them they will be shiny but once you spay them with Krylon matte finish they will no longer be shiny any more.

Now that Hogwild is producing vinyl labels I would stay away from the paper ones.

Re: labels question

What is the advantage of the vinyl lables if you are going to spray them with a protective coat anyways?
