ASM Inlay critisism/suggestions needed

Here is what I've created so far. I like the backs the way they are, but I'm having problems deciding on the fronts. I haven't submitted anything to ASM yet since I though I'd ask for opinions/suggestions here first. I have placed my order for 700+ chips, and now I need the inlay!

Here are the fronts I've come up with. I like the look of the first one (please ignore the black ring, I didn't mean for that to be there), but it doesn't have a real Rocking R on it. The others all have the real thing, but I don't think they look as nice. Also, I would like to add a little color to the chips, but don't have any ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are the backs. Both of the Red chips will have the same back, or at least the same denom (one is for a cash set, the other a tourney set). I may put a different picture on it so that they are not exactly the same. Also, I plan on switching the pig and chicken so that the small to large progression is consistent. Plus I may add a small Rocking R Brand somewhere on each chip. I would like to add a little color to the chip, but again, I can't think of a nice way to do it. None of the watermarks I tried looked good.

Thanks for looking and I look forward to the comments. (and thanks R Deckard for the image posting faq)

Here are the newest versions of my inlays. Take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks! (the other side of the red/pink chip will be the same as the $5, but with the pig facing the other way)

A nice look I think, but is some of the text not too thin and not obvious enough, if you know what I mean? Nice though

Re: ASM Inlay critisism/suggestions needed

I like the backs with the animals...very KGB-ish!

The text is a bit too thin for my tastes. I also think that the three swooping R's in "Rocking R Ranch" makes that text a bit difficult to read. This may be what Hod was referring to when he said it was "not obvious enough"...it's just lacking some clarity.

Have you considered using the animal images on the front as well (as a watermark)? I think this would tie the front and back inlays together, but perhaps that isn't what you are going for. I'm not so sure about the rocking chair R design...

So where did you get the "Rocking R Ranch" name?

Re: ASM Inlay critisism/suggestions needed

My grandfather had the Rocking R brand in his area way back in the day. I thought it would make a good design that tied in nicely with my family.

I can see what you mean about the text. I tried printing it out at work today, and even blown up the text was faint. I'll try it in bold and without the swoops to see how it looks. I also like the idea of the animals as watermarks, so I'll give that a try. Thanks.

Re: ASM Inlay critisism/suggestions needed

I think the basic idea is very good, great in fact. I'd keep the animal icon exactly as they are, they're really nice old timey line cuts. The font is a good fit I'd just do a beefier version of it. You're not far off at all in my mind.

For the fronts the design you have on the black chip is your boy. Red denom is very traditional and perfect to jump out when the text is small.

Very nice. The progression of animals is well done too. From the simple barnyard fowl on the $1 to the majestic horse on the $500.

I like the sheep. I really like the sheep.

But seriously, those chips will be quite unique and look awesome when completed.
