Eureka!!! (well sorta)

I've been racking my brain trying to come up with an inlay idea so I'd have an excuse to participate in the 1/4" group buy, but nothing has really excited me.

Until now! I was checking out the new changes at www.pokerchipsonline.com and noticed the advertising chips when it hit me- an advertising chip!

Hey, it may not be my best idea, but it's my latest; so bare with me...

The good:
1) it's advertising! (duh)
2) because I'll be giving many away, I'll need to order more (bingo)
3) hopefully, it'll be cute/clever/unique (that's where you come in hopefully- cause I lack cuteness, cleverness, and uniqueity)

So ideas to make this good and not lame will be appreciated. If it's bound for lameness no matter what, voice that opinion too! (though as nicely as possible)

The brainstorm:
I give golf lessons. I was thinking about something like a pic of a broken club or something, or maybe the whole inlay looks like a golf ball (complete with dimples as a watermark) and the $5 chip will = $5 off a golf lesson.

Most all of the players in my home game also golf, and I'm visualizing them with a couple of these chips, and when they play with other buddies (that have just slapped one in the water or 3putted or something) they can flip them a chip and say," you should give this guy a call". lol

and also giving a chip or two to customers to either: a) use on there next lesson, or b) give to someone else to use.

The problems:
1) the wording. it's hard to get cute and clever in a few words (with cheesy omitted)
2) what the heck do I do with the $1 chip? I'm thinking of having a $20 instead of $25, so I can work that in somehow, but the $1 and the $100 chip are puzzling me.

Well that's about it at this point. All advise appreciated.

The denomination mark ($) throws it off a bit, but..... the 100 refers to a golfers score. 100 is bad.

Not sure the best way to handle the "$" sign. Maybe just omitting it entirely?

I think the goal of golf is to shoot your age, then die.

How about some non-standard denominations?
hole in 1
par 3
front 9
18 holes

couple of things:
first, I want to use these in my home game, and I suck at math!
second, I hope that they may possibly be used as coupons/advertisement. which will help give more lessons (i.e. pay for the chips!) be passed around and recycled as basically a business card or back to me to use in game.

ps. my home game pals are all trustworthy, so there's no concern about misuse.

The average golfer may play an entire lifetime and never shoot lower than 100...I think for most if not all new golfers this is the ultimate goal...until they do it...then its 90...then its 80...then its 70...

I tend to disagree, but I think most people feel that if you can't break 100, then you are a hack...I believe the threshold is much lower...80...I have seen many-a-chopper shoot in the 80s.

Eric

I would leave the "$" if you are planning on using them in your home game, but maybe de-emphasize them by using a smaller font, or maybe a lighter color, or grayed out sort-of...

BTW...do I get a sample set?

Some other ideas...along with your $5 discount, how about special priced or packaged lessons (I offer this not knowing what you charge for your lessons...they are generally about $45-$60 per hour around here):

discount...$5

first lesson...$25

3 lessons...$100

no idea what do with the $1 chip...
