I like the "A" watermark. Maybe use it more prominantly on the back also, and wrap the text around the outside (like the front). Is this for a label or inlay?
You might want to print that out to see how the embossed print looks. Generally it doesn't show up all that well when printed on small images like chip inlays or labels.

If you leave off the dollar bill sign, the chips will actually be much more versatile for either cash games or home tournies. Really like the design so far though, I am a big fan of designs that limit the amount of color, seems to make them much more regal. Congrats on a good design.
I like the second one. I agree about getting rid of the $. Then you can make the # bigger and have less to worry about visibility-wise.
