Chips: 438 | | Newbie, Need some directioning. Hey guys, I'm new to the custom poker chip world and I need some help and directioning.
I really love the look of the Paulson James Bond's (The new kind)
I would really like to get some custom chips that look a lot like the James Bonds (The colors, edge spots, etc).
I have been looking around in the websites I know for some custom chips that allow me to make chips that look like the paulsons, however I don't know whats good quality plus I havent been able to find a place with a nice looking chip that looks like the paulsons edge spots + colors.
If you guys could help me out that would be great!!!
Thanks,
Naor |

You'll find quite a bit of information on this site. Spend some time reading the various forums, articles, and reviews.
In particular, you might want to check out the ASM group buy that is underway. Other options for you might be TR Kings or Blue Chips. They have lots of edgespot options. You can play around with the Chip Factory (it's on the Site Tools menu above) to see what molds, colors, and edgespots appeal to you.
Also, you'll find lots of great help here when it comes to designing your custom inlay.
What pricerange are you looking at ($/chip) ?? and how many chips will you want?
Do you have samples of the Paulsons? Of the other brands? If not, you should get some.

Chips: 438 | | | Re: Newbie, Need some directioning. I had some samples of the paulsons but they got lost somewhere, I guess I could get some more, what other chip samples do you think I should get to see a bunch of different types of Molds / Edge spots / Clay materials?
The absolute most I will pay for a single chip would be like $1.30, although I want to spend more like $0.90 - $1.10.
If I can't get what I absolutely want then you gotta live with that you can get right?
I am looking to get 1000 chips.
Thanks a lot for being so helpful, I hope I'm not too much of a hastle, any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. |

Chips: 265 | | | Re: Newbie, Need some directioning. My advice is to look at the picture galleries and get a feel for what you like. Ceramic or clay? Custom (personalized) or something already in production. Then get samples. You are fortunate that you have a very reasonable budget. You should be able to get almost anything you want.
Enjoy the process and welcome to the forum. |

Chips: 29,466 | | | Re: Newbie, Need some directioning. At that price and quantity, you can pretty much take your pick of standard clays.
However, if you want your own custom inlays (and maybe custom color combos), then your choices are much more limited.
I'm thinking that your best option is to get in on the ASM group buy. Great chips, new edgespot options, choice of molds, great price, and you can have your own custom inlay. You could get a nice sample set of the Key West chips, for example, to check out the ASMs.
Another option, but much more expensive, would be custom versions of the InPlay Clays ( http://www.sidepot.com/custom_poker_.../36.htm#volume)
You could get a sample set of the Inplay Clays if this seems like an option.
Custom TRKings would probably be outside your price range, especially at your quantities. If you're interested in these, though, you could get a sample set of the Deadwoods.
You can pretty much forget Paulsons for customs (although I think there's somebody who does labels on Paulsons).
There are a number of new Blue Chips clays coming out lately, and they look pretty nice. There are lots of different molds and sample chips available. I'm not sure what a set of customs would cost you, though. (Somebody here can probably provide a link to that information, though.) Check out the Sammurai group buy thread.
Be sure to check out some of the Poker Chip Reviews on this site for more information and pictures of these various chips.

Anyway, I think I found a place that has some paulsons with NCV (No chip value).
They aren't the JamesBonds I don't think but they look really nice,
How would the Paulsons compare to a custom set of ASMs or something of that nature in quality and feel wise???
Thanks |

Chips: 438 | | | Re: Newbie, Need some directioning. Im starting to learn about different mold types and edge spots a little bit =D
I realised that what I'm looking for is 4x2 Edge spots, that is what the Paulsons have and thats what I really like, I love how the chips look stacked, are there any custom chips that I can get with 4x2?
Let me know :-P
